the Retro-Link game controller it looks nice but it's super lightweight it works though although I'm not sure about durability. if you're buying this one for durability it's not the same build as original 64 gamepad. I Got it for Mupen64Plus I needed button layout of the Nintendo 64.note there is no Rumble cartridge it's just a blank hole.pick this one if you don't have an original 64 gamepad and converter.four stars due to its light weight build and no Rumble other than that looks to be okay buy so far Make sure it is the Retro-Link one As that the one I got. the short answer this may not be the best Gamepad for kids as they are hard on them best for adults Retro Gaming.

I am happy with this controller
Worth the money. I am happy with this controller. I ordered the controller and then looked at reviews. Someone said that the analog stick is too touchy, probably meaning it's not a true analog stick. I was worried but when I used it to play Super Mario 64 on an emulator on my MacBook, I was impressed to find that it is indeed a functioning analog stick! The controller is lighter than an original N64 controller and it lacks the actual connector in the slot for a memory card or rumble pack. The buttons don't feel like the original controller when you press them. None of these three issues bother me much. I'm just happy the controls function like the original.

Starfox barrel rolls just the way I remember
Works great in retropie/emulationstation on my pi 3. Starfox felt just like I remembered, minus the rumble, but who am I kidding, my parents never bought me the rumble pak, so I reiterate, JUST like I remember.I'm not sure whether to be impressed that they still added the slot for the expansion paks or not. I mean I suppose they wanted to recreate the feel of the controller exactly, but they even added the spring latch that holds the paks (that's how nintendo spelled it btw) in. Why bother? there's no connector up there, seems like added manufacturing cost for nothing. I'm not complaining, just seriously curious.Bottom line, this thing looks, feels and plays just the way I remember

Works well within Nintendo's awful design
Just a personal note first: the original design of Nintendo's N64 controller is one of the worst abortions in controller design history. It's as if they let a blind grandmother who had never played a game in her entire 89 years have carte blanche design control over this awful monstrosity. That said, within the constraints of Nintendo's horrible design, the Retro Link controller here performs quite well. Sync, buttons, sticks and use all do as they should. It works great with every N64 emulated game we have played.

this works just fine. The joystick doesn't have the same response as ...
This controller has met my needs and I couldn't beat it for the price. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but when I want to play a little Wave Race, this works just fine. The joystick doesn't have the same response as a true N64 controller (I can't do barrel rolls or other quick tricks on the jet ski), but it's still functional and feels solid in my hands. If you're a casual player, this definitely gets the job done at a great price point.

Advertised black, received gray
Ordered a black one and received a gray one. Works great though, so no big deal.

Best N64 controller on amazon right now - I have had the "pleasure" of testing 3 other manufacturers version of this controller, and they were very poorly made.If you need the ability to play the joystick heavy games (starfox, mario kart, or any of the rare engine titles), then this is the correct hardware for you. It worked great with a pi 3, but you may need to write custom config files if you are running the mupen64 variant - the default values are not correctly listed on the site.

I've included the button mapping picture for this controller
Like some other people I had some issues getting the buttons to map correctly and obviously its because the button configuration is different from any other game controller. I had some issues getting them to work correctly because some of the n64 buttons are not where you think they should be, so I attached a photo of the CORRECT config for your buttons, enjoy!

Broken on arrival.
Product was broken on arrival. The analogue thumbstick only registered half-movement on the whole right side, this led to games such as Mario64 having Mario just tip-toe every time he moved to the right. Pretty much unusable. Gamewizard UK also had terrible returns policies, so I'm stuck with a £12 controller I can't use. Being broken out of the box isn't a good start and I'd suggest if you insist on buying this, buy it from someone with a solid returns policy.

Total crap
I hear actual retrolink usb controllers work as intended, I however was sent a crap version without their logo on the front. The d-pad and thumbstick are one and the same and both act as the d-pad and thumbstick simultaneously and act like the thumb stick is pressed in as far as it will go... most games are unplayable, buyers beware

Complete Waste of Money and Time
Although it looks and feels like an N64 controller, the way it works is a complete load of garbage. The D-Pad and the Analog stick map as the exact same buttons with no way to change it. This means the D-pad and analog stick can't be assigned separately making one useless.

Control promedio
