I was using PH Up and PH Down Liquids at first but they did little or nothing (Only used PH UP) - My 20 Gal Freshwater Tank is a beast when it comes to keeping the water parameters in check, but, as anyone in this Hobby knows, the smaller tanks need more attention. I got the Alkaline Buffer and it is Amazingly Effective. It's results are instantaneous, safe for the fish even when I boost from 6.8 to 7.8 in a single dose - Also the Tank stays Stable longer - This Tank is Notorious for Dropping in PH - So now when I do a Water Top Off (2 Gallons Weekly) and a 20-25% Water Change (4-5 Gallons Weekly) I add 1/2 Teaspoon and 1 Teaspoon respectively and it stays Stable at a very Comfortable 7.6-7.8. The Bottle has a Ton of Quickly Dissolving Powder in it that I am guessing will last at least a couple years at the rate I am using it. NOTE:- This will make your water Very Cloudy for a short period of time - it is Harmless to the Fish and Dissipates after a couple hours. Chinese Oranda's like a PH near 8.0 - the rest of the Fish, Snails and my Two Fiddlers like it around 7.0 or higher a bit, so Everybody is Quite Happy at 7.6-7.8.

I have been raising mystery snail babies and the bioload from so many in one tank was making the pH plummet. Which is horrible for their shells. I tried a pH+ liquid that did nothing. Then I saw a recommendation for this stuff and I was desperate. One little scoop of this in their tank and the pH and KH went up! What a life saver this was for my snail babies last month at home before going off to find new homes. I’m using this in my other tanks now too. Amazing product and boosts that pH within minutes!!!!

we purchased a couple of fishes from Pet co and sadly within the first week lost two female guppies.we tested the waters temperature all good, tested the pH level and got a 6.2 not so good. we did a water change of about 25% of the tank and hoped this was adjust the pH. it didn't, we lost a tetra next. after doing another test we found the hardness of our water was off. did some research and saw this item was recommended.safe to use with fish, please slowly add into water so it dissolves or else they think its food. few days letter tested the water and we were at a pH level of 7 PERFECT!

Local Aquarium store said to try this to get the hardness up in my aqaurium. Dosed at recommandend dosage and it shot my PH way up. Store said that because the hardness of my water was next to zero. Also looked on the side of bottom it said to use with acid buffer as well, and gave the dosage. So have been cutting the dosage of the Alkaline Buffer down, so has not to sky rocket my pH. went back to try and hardness tested, but the stores indicator solution was working right, so can't report on if my water hardness has come up. But otherwise a good product.
