Fodor's In Focus St. Maarten/St. Martin, St. Barth & Anguilla (Full-color Travel Guide) Paperback – February 5, 2013

"In Focus" really describes this guide. Instead of taking along a guide to the entire Caribbean, this condensed guide is targeted at the three islands. We followed dining suggestions several times and they were always on point. If you're going to St Martin or the other islands, I strongly recommend taking this along.

Islands were well covered. Format was a little confusing. Wish all topics had been covered by area for St. Maarten. It was a little frustrating flipping from beach section to eating section to shopping section just to see what was in Phillipsburg.

If I wanted to write a good book about St Maarten, I would write specifics on directions since roads really are not marked. I learned this by talking to other visitors. I could follow their directions better than this book.A lot of well known information for things to do and see was also received by talking to people. We used this book very little and I was disappointed.We did not need a car for the entire trip. We could have got away with one for just a couple days. There are great $2 busses every where as well as water taxi's.

This book has so many good facts. We haven't gone yet but will be soon and I've got post-its all over it marking spots. When your traveling to islands I always by the Fodor book as it is helpful from the driving direction, money, beaches and eats. Yes I recommend Fodors for any travel.

Super useless travel guide. I bought this for my trip to Saint Martin/Sint Maarten and this book provided no added value. It looks like it was compiled several years ago from internet listings, as opposed to real people on the ground providing input. Even the maps included for Saint Martin/Sint Maarten are pretty useless.

We used this as a guide to find stuff to do on our honeymoon on St Martin. Several great suggestions came from it, and its advice was vital to the success of our trip.

I was hoping for a guide that focused a lot more on things to do and see. This guide focused much more heavily on hotels, restaurants, and bars. If you are looking for very thorough lists and blurbs about those things, this is a great guide for you.

A good travel guide. With larger and better maps it would get five stars.
