A Household Essential!
We have a bit of an addiction to "smells" in my house. Wax burners, imported incense sticks, time-release sprays, way-too-expensive-for-what-you-get fancy oil plugins...you name it, we got it. This cedar incense is, by far, the favorite of us and everyone who comes over! We purchase a box of this incense at least every other month, insofar that Amazon has created a dash button on my homepage for this and only this, ha!It is strong without being overpowering (my aunt hates strong fresheners and unplugs ALL my things EVERY TIME she comes over but she loves this), and it smells EXACTLY like you have a cozy, roaring fire going on in your fireplace. We especially like to burn a brick before guests come over; they always comment "ahhh your fireplace smells so good" every time they walk in, without fail! One brick just about fills the whole house with scent that lasts a while. We have purchased the sampler box before and loved every "flavor", but the cedar is by far the best-smelling and smoothest-burning of all.Totally recommend, especially during the cold weather months, but we love it year-round.

Rich, lingering scent
I moved into a musty old house recently, and have become somewhat obsessed with burning incense in seval rooms. Of the dozen or so scents I've tried, this is one of my favorites! The smell is rich, and reminds me of camping trips in Texas duringy childhood. One bar (an unusual shape for incense, but a good one) will scent a large room easily. The smell lingers long after in bar is finished, but is never cloying. It is a little difficult to light them at first - I've had success running flame around the edges and top until I can see red smouldering spots across the entire top.

handsome lumberjack and marshmallows not included
If you want your home to smell like a handsome lumberjack visits you regularly to wrap you up in an oversized sherpa blanket and toast marshmallows over a masterfully crafted fire for you, get this incense. It burns clean, leaving a pure smoky wood scent behind that lingers for a good 3-4 hours afterwards. I've tried the sampler pack and pinon is my favorite of the bunch — richly aromatic with a good balance of smoke and sweetness, the way I think fires made by handsome lumberjacks would smell. I especially like burning it after cooking dinner; it helps clear away the cooking scents.

Literally smells like a smoking pine log
Smells are subjective... I get that. This incense smells like you have a smokey camp-fire inside your home. I do not understand the appeal, but I will give this 5 stars because it is exactly what it is supposed to be. You could save yourself money and set a piece of pine on fire, blow it out.... then walk around your house with the smoking piece of wood. Also, the incense is easy to light. I have no clue why anyone would have any trouble getting it lit.

Pretty strong stuff
I burn cedar in my fireplace and enjoy the smell. Thought I'd try this when I didn't have a fire going. I lit one in my 15x20 living room with 17' ceiling and stepped out for a bit. When I returned, I was hit with a pretty strong "hit" of the cedar. My first thought was to look for smoke (there was none). My second thought was that my grandson may have a problem breathing this stuff in.They light easily and burn about 15 min. At this point I'm not sure if I'll continue to use this stuff or not. Perhaps I'll burn one and plan to be out of the cabin for a while. Using one in an enormous open space would be fine.

I was disappointed with my cedar wood incense
I was disappointed with my cedar wood incense. It smelled like a 'bad' smoky fireplace and couldn't smell the cedar except for a moment when lighting the 'cone'. I thought it was the same product I used years ago. Same packing and Santa Fe connection. And it irritated my nose like when the SoCal fires were blazing. Sorry but I really wanted to like it.

Love the scent!
Gorgeous scent, like it just as much as the pinon pine! We don't have a wood fireplace so this gives me that type of smell which is wonderful on rainy, cold days. I use candle flame to light these as they sometimes take a few tries to light. I just let it burn in a jar lid filled with some sand, works great.

Great scent- mine are HARD to light
I have an exceptionally difficult time getting these to light and stay that way. I stand the brick up in the provided burner (which is a bit odd but works well enough) and have to sit with a lighter against the brick for a minute plus- often coming back later to restart the brick. As far as the scent: I didn't have any expectation beyond "woody" I had recently had an incense that was a heavy sandalwood so I was thinking of that but far from disappointed. The small is definitely sweet/sugary but I wouldn't call it overwhelming at all. I enjoy these beyond the below issue with getting them burning.I'm guessing they took on some moisture during shipping as the box leaves something to be desired- these would be better sent in a bag with a desiccant packet.I probably won't buy again because of the amount of effort needed to get the item burning.

Great cedar aroma without chemical overtones.
It is difficult to find a cedar incense that doesn't have a chemical smell, but these bricks are great! A nice gentle, clear fragrance distinctly cedar, without any other smells. The bricks light easily, and burn about 15 minutes. Definitely a winner!
