Paws down - best dog shampoo ever!
I’d give this shampoo 100 stars if I could! First I love the lemongrass scent. It’s refreshing especially on my high dander Scottish Terrier. Next, her normally coarse hair came out downy soft. No need to apply any detangling products after bath. Do note that a little shampoo goes a long way! I love how it lathers and then rinses nice and clean. Most importantly, my dog was developing skin bumps on her back, which prompted me to switch shampoos before trotting her off to the vet. Skin bumps are GONE after just the first use. I also like that the product is made in USA! She is so annoyed with me because I can’t keep my hands off her body! Soft, healthy fur, just the way we expect it. Last, thank you to all the people who reviewed this product. You were instrumental in my making this purchase. I thank you and my Scottie, Miss Sally thanks you!

Great shampoo especially for dry, itchy skin & allergies!
This is a great shampoo for my terrier with skin problems. Essential oils are very beneficial for the skin. I use them on my skin. The shampoo is very thin, but it really lathers up well & smells wonderful. Don't be alarmed when you see a grayish oily scum in the rinse water. It is from the essential oils. The dog's coat may feel a little oily when you rinse it, but be patient as the coat will feel so soft once it drys. Once I blow dry my dog, his fur fluffs up & is coat is so soft! The essential oils hydrate his skin & help with his itching. I also spray argan oil on his coat & massage it in between shampoos. He loves the massage & the argan oil helps his dry, itchy skin. I love the fact that it is organic. I have to be very careful of everything I use on his skin. I can no longer use any steroid products on him as he developed diabetes 2 years ago (probably due to all the steroids he was on for over 10 years. I won't make that mistake again!) I have actually been able to manage his skin issues quite well without the steroids. I wish I had the knowledge I now have 10 years ago & I would have never went the steroid route. I did not know any better & the vet recommended it. High quality food & organic shampoos have helped tremendously. I give him very little treats now as most of them are loaded with fillers, preservatives, salt, & sugar. He only gets a high protein meat jerky treat that is naturally preserved with plant extracts. His allergy issues are better controlled & he is quite healthy overall now, even though he is over 14 years old & diabetic.

and finally there were those shampoos that smelled worse than mud and muck
I have finally found the shampoo that gets the job done and with two large dogs who swim and joyfully roll in mud and muck on a daily basis. Prior to my discovery, I had gone through many brands. Some were harsh, some didn't foam to my liking, others left a residue, still others dried their skin and dulled their coat, and finally there were those shampoos that smelled worse than mud and muck .... for days on end. I was drawn to this shampoo because of its ingredient simplicity (organic oils of coconut, olive and jojoba, oil blend of rosemary and lemongrass, rosemary extract and aloe vera) and the fact that it is saponified oil soap, which is about as close to natural or organic as one can buy. The directions added a smile: "Shake well before use (the bottle - not the dog)" and in this day and time, the clarification is probably wise. It is further directed to use warm water; given my dogs have an "outdoor shower facility" consisting of a hose attached to a water faucet, they have to settle for cool water (living in South Florida there is no such thing as cold running water). With much anticipated disappointment, I tried 4 Legger Dog shampoo and was astonished and amazed. It foams nicely with only a small amount for each body quadrant needed (despite the instructions to "liberally apply"). I do massage deeply, partly to remove all mud and muck, partly to check their bodies for any lumps, bumps, and hitchhikers, and partly because who doesn't like a deep massage! It rinses out easily and quickly leaving them literally squeaky clean down to their skin. Their coats are left soft and shiny. The fragrance is refreshingly light and clean and lingers on their bodies and on one's hands for about 30 or so minutes; I'm half tempted to buy a bottle for my personal use! Perhaps with more 5 star reviews a 2 Legger Human Shampoo will be available. It should be easy enough by simply crafting an additional label changing the "4" to a "2" and nothing else! Attached are before and after pictures of my one dog. My Giant refused to be photographed, naked, tethered to a pole and tortured (his word, not mine) with organic dog shampoo and water. However, I did manage to covertly video the after 4-Legger after bath euphoria. Bottom line: This is a 5-star worthy shampoo and my dogs are worthy of only the best I can find for them! Cheers!

Organic product, strong smell
I selected this product because it’s organic hoping it’s safer for the pet, even though it’s pricier than other brands. But my partner says its smell is too strong.

Works well. Smells great!
Reading the instructions was a hoot. This smells awesome!! It lathers well and leaves my dog smooth and clean. It has been 3 days and there are no flakes in my pups back. I’ll update when I have more results on my other dog.

This product goes along way. It’s pricey but it’s thick and should add water to water it down and it will go a long way.

Leaves a slight lemongrass scent which is not too strong and just smells fresh and clean. It lathers better than other shampoos I’ve tried. It’s very watery but you don’t need a lot. I will purchase again.

There are lots of shampoos for dogs with claims that they are all natural, plant-based etc. But when you research the actual ingredients, they aren't always as benign as they first appear. Our dog's wonky immune system has resulted in allergies and skin issues, so it's important that we use as few chemicals and medicated products as possible on her. This 4-Legger organic shampoo fits the bill perfectly, and I've yet to find another that has such quality ingredients, without unecessary additives. It's not a cure for our dog's allergies, it doesn't claim to be, but it's cleansing, calming, gentle on our dog's skin, and leaves her coat in beautiful condition. The gorgeous smell of lemongrass is a bonus. Don't let the fact it's not a thick, gloopy shampoo fool you. That's simply the lack of added "iffy" thickeners. We just add some to warm water in a jug then pour on, lather up and rinse.
