Cowon J3 8GB MP3 Player - Black

I have had the Cowon J3 32 GB player for about a month now and am extremely pleased with it. The reviews stating how good the sound quality is are completely accurate. While I admit that this is quite an expensive player, it certainly performs. I would think of this as an audiophiles MP3 player, where you can really enjoy your music, rather than something you listen to some tinny tunes on while you're catching up on someone's latest offering on Twitter. Buy some decent headphones or earbuds (I use Sennheiser CX400II which are excellent) and you will have probably the best sound available from a portable device.Films are equally impressive; the screen is bright, clear and does not suffer from any lag that I can discern. The screen is also large enough to watch quite comfortably. It's certainly a life-saver when stuck in an airport or similar for long periods of time.The menu systems are easy to negotiate and, despite not being the most gadget-savvy person, I have had no trouble working it. That said, the instruction manual on the CD supplied is fairly light on detail and only really covers the basics. The JETAudio software to manage your files is obviously hugely capable, but again you have to figure it out pretty much for yourself so it can be a bit baffling (to me anyway). None of these are real concerns though.Regarding the quality of the J3, I think it is very well made. It has a nice solid feel to it, it's made of quality looking materials and the buttons have a very positive feel to them. Some people mention that it should be made of metal and seem to mistake physical weight for quality. Like I said, I am very impressed with the quality.Loading music on to start with was a bit of a trial. I had assumed that because album art appeared on my Windows Media Player that it would appear on the J3. Not so. However, I have worked out that as long as you have a picture of the album art entitled "Cover.Jpg" saved in the file with the music then it will show up. There were other idiosyncrasies, such as the same artist turning up twice in the listings. After investigating this it is because in the sub-field of information regarding the tracks it may have been spelt differently or one is in capitals and the other is in lower case. All of this is a consequence of me collecting music randomly from a number of sources, as we all do. A bit of management of my files and all is well - essentially this was all user error, the J3's not a mind reader!Is there anything I'd change? Not really, it's pretty spot-on.Overall, I'm very glad I bought the J3 and think it was definitely worth the money. I'm sure that you will be equally pleased with your purchase. Very highly recommended. Amazon were their usual excellent selves as well.

As an iPhone and iPhone touch user I moved to Sony MP3 players - to avoid iTunes. My Sony was getting full so I looked around and based on reviews here decided on the Cowon 32Gb. What an excellent choice, really good display which puts all others to shame and the sound quality really does blow the iPhone away. The operating system is a little different to use, not as easy or logical as the iPhone, but once you have used it there is no problem.I use mine mostly for language learning so I have material arranged in folders for different languages, the Cowon system is easy to navigate around for this. The only slightly negative for me is because I use it for spoken word and keep stopping and starting (pausing) it the buttons on the side are tiny. They are easy to use but I often need to look for it because it is flush with the casing and small it is not always obvious.On the whole the hardware is brilliant, the operating system good once you have had a play with it and the video and sound quality completly out of this world. If you don't need iTunes and want better quality then this is the one.Update - I have reduced 5 stars to 3 stars. I have used the device and it is excellent as described - BUT - having put around 12Gb of music and spoken word onto it anything else I add comes up as 'no file' and so will not play. From the website it states it is capable of -up to 12,000 folders / 12,000 files (music/video file: 8,000 + others: 4,000)MicroSD card: up to 12,000 folders / 12,000 files (music/video file: 8,000 + others: 4,000).In reality this seems to mean that once you reach around 12Gb you need to use the micro SD card. The device is ok if you have some big files, like video files but if you want to use lots of audio it is restricting. In retropect I should have bought the cheaper 16Gb device and use micro SD cards. I use the player for spoken word and language courses and the intention was to update from a 16Gb Sony to the better 32Gb Cowon so I could have all the files in one place. Please consider this if you are buying this device.

Questo lettore mi ha sorpreso dal primo giorno che lo ho acquistato. A parte qualche piccolo problema software, risolto con l'ultimo firmware rilasciato, la riproduzione dei file musicali è perfetta. Probilmente grazie al DAC della wolfson (WM8960) la riproduzione dei brani in formato flac è eccellente, inoltre la potenza in uscita è sufficiente anche per pilotare le mie sennheiser HD650 che con la loro elevata impedenza (300 ohm) sono cuffie molto impegnative. L'unica piccola pecca è che le frequenze intermedie vanno un poco equalizzate in modo da ottenere una riproduzione della voce più presente. La scena musicale è comunque molto ampia e i vari strumenti musicali si distinguono molto bene gli uni dagli altri. Infine, la durata della batteria è decisamente ampia.Peccato che non sia più in produzione, ma la cowon ha già rilasciato un degno successore...Per quanto attiene Amazon, semplicemente "number one".

Nachdem mein Samsung Y10 nach drei harten Jahren kaputtgegangen und der Samsung M1 aufgrund eines Mangels zurück gegangen ist, war die Frage nach einem neuen mp3 Player der gehobeneren Klasse wieder offen. Die hierzulande offenbar nur online verfügbaren COWON J3 schienen, nach dem Datenblatt zu urteilen, die beste Lösung. Aber eben ein Blindkauf. Der sich gelohnt hat. Mein Gerät ist der J3 mit 16 GB in Weiß.Hardware:Mit knapp 80g ist der Player ein Leichtgewicht. Dagegen wirkt der ipod geraduzu klobig. Ob der J3 ebenso robust ist, ..., nun auf diesen Vergleich werde ich es nicht ankommen lassen. Er ist auch sehr flach und nutzt den AMOLED-Bildschirm optimal aus. Die "Zierleiste" auf der Unterseite ist zum Festhalten überaus dienlich. Dass laut + leise unten rechts per Knopf einstellbar sind, finde ich etwas unglücklich. In den Settings können die Knöpfe von der Tastensperre ausgenommen werden. Eine Zusatzspeicherkarte werde ich voraussichtlich nicht benötigen, der MicroSD-Slot ist jedoch vorgesehen. Das Ladekabel ist ausreichend lang.Die Akkulaufzeit des J3 kann wirklich beeindrucken. Die Ladeprozedur ist allenfalls eine Wochenendbeschäftigung. Die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit von Daten ist schneller, als ich es je bei einem mp3-Player erlebt habe. Bluetooth war als Schnittstelle eine meiner Hauptkriterien, wegen meines Bluetooth-Kopfhörers von Sennheiser. Anders als Apple ipod Touchscreen verfügt der COWON jedoch über keine WLAN-Schnittstelle. Warum auch?Der Lautsprecher ist kraftvoll, doch wer verzichtet schon freiwillig auf schicke In-Ear-Kopfhörer. Jedenfalls wer sich den mitgelieferten COWON-Kopfhörern anvertraut. Hier gilt wie immer, auf spezialisierte Hersteller zurückgreifen.Funktionen:Ich höre überwiegend Musik und sehe auch häufiger Filme. Nach Urlauben lade ich die Fotos drauf, damit ich sie zeigen kann. Von den anderen Funktionen nutze ich kaum etwas. Allenfalls mal das Radio. Was auch immer ich an Funktionen nutze, steht der Player 3 Sekunden nach Anschalten Gewehr bei Fuß, also enorm schnell.> Musik:Hier punktet der J3 mit seiner besten Eigenschaft, der Soundqualität. Und ist unschlagbar. Wem die Normaleinstellung nicht ausreicht, kann auf viele JetEffekte (3.0) zurückgreifen. Anders als anderen Herstellern sind diese Soundmanipulationen dezent und anspruchsvoll. Gern lass ich mir eine Studioaufnahme zwecks Live-Effekt als "Reverb" vorspielen, ohne dass alles zugedröhnt wird. Sony ist darin schon gut, aber der COWON noch besser. Wem die Auswahl nicht reicht, kann eigene User anlegen.Einzig umständlich finde ich bei dem Musikmenü, dass man die Alben bei der Querlage des Players auf die Bild-Tags der Albumcover verlassen muss. Darum nutze ch meist den Browser. Ferner scheint der J3 den tag der Songreihenfolge nicht zu kennen, sofern sich diese nicht aus dem Dateititel ergibt. Ein altes Problem bei mp3-Playern allgemein.> Video:Hier hängt der COWON schließlich alle ab. AMOLED haben mittlerweile auch andere, aber die Bedienung ist intituitiv und vielseitig. Die automatische Kapitelbildung ist praktisch. Anders als bei dem Samsung M1 stehen der Videofunktion alle Jet-Effekte zur Verfügung. Und: J3 spielt scheinbar alles ab, auch DivX 4.0.Einzig bei der Lautstärke, die im Musikmodus mehr als ausreicht, kommt bei älteren Videofiles bald an ihre Grenze. Fürs Flugzeug reicht es dann schnell nicht mehr aus.> Bilder:Bilder profitieren von der tollen Bildqualität. Sobald es aber viele Bilder werden, fehlt dem J3 leider eine schlaue Sortierfunktion. Hier hilft also einzig der Browser. Schade.> Radio:Der J3 empfängt meisst auch ohne Kopfhörer-Kabel zahlreiche Sender. Und auch hier können die Jet-Effects verwendet werden. Allerdings: wie schaltet man das Radio eigentlich aus, ohne etwas anderes einzuschalten?Zubehör:Die Kopfhörer sind, obwohl keine In-Ears, von hoher Qualität. Sie geben den Sound neutral aber kraftvoll wieder. Leider ist das unsymmetrische Kabel auf der linke Seite viel zu kurz.Tja, ein Case ist für einen solchen Exoten speziell kaum preiswert zu finden. Was Cowon da für ein Lederetui verlangt ist abnorm. Einfache Etuis passen in der Regel, wenn sie für ipod geeignet sind. Ich selbst bin hochzufrieden mit dem weißen Krussel Vinga in Größe M. Tolle Qualtät für kleinen Preis.Fazit:Der J3 ist nicht fehlerlos, aber überzeugt mit bärenstarken Funktionen, wo es drauf ankommt. In Musik und vor allem Video sucht er seinesgleichen. AMOLED-Display, der starke Akku und JetEffects, aber auch das leichte, kompakte Gehäuse sind punktebringende Eigenschaften. Kleine Unplausibilitäten in der Bedienung können 5 verdiente Punkte nicht gefährden. Meine ich jedenfalls.

週5日毎日2時間は使っています。1時間音楽のみ，1時間動画を見ています。1週間に1回充電すれば問題なしです。スマホの電池の減り方とは雲泥の差ですね。すばらしいです。音質は音源次第ですかね。ネットからダウンロードしたMP3程度であれば，トランセンドの5,000円程度の物でも遜色無いです。ストラップホールが無いので，別途購入したＴＰＵケースに穴をあけて落下および傷防止にしています。

音質､画質どちらもかなり満足です。バッテリーもかなり長持ちします。タッチ感度もすごく良いです。そして、uciで見た目を変えれます。これが結構良くuciを変えると何度でも新鮮な雰囲気を味わえます。私が使ってきておすすめだと思ったのは・Lynx・Paper・Puzzleなどです。JetEffectのおすすめ設定は80Hz 6 Narrow220Hz 1〜2 Wide780Hz 5 Wide3,0kHz 3 Normal13kHz 7 WideBBE : OFF もしくは 2 (OFFの方がよい)MachBass : OFF もしくは 4 (OFFの方がよい)3D Surround : 1Mp Enhance : OnStreo Enhance : 1Reverb : 1〜2鮮やかでクリアな音になります。参考になれば幸いです。

インターフェイスを自由に変えることができるし、サウンドも申し分ないです。ちょっとマニア向けかもしれませんが、かっこいいですよ。おすすめします。
