Honestly, most of those complaints likely come from people who didn’t read the instructions or struggled to grasp how it operates — probably not the right angle for “Bob.”This device is fantastic and will quickly become your girlfriend’s new Bob.But there are a few key things to be aware of:1. Starting Bob: Place the opener on the can and press the button — don’t hold it in place. Let Bob do the work. I saw a video review where someone completely misused it, clearly without reading any instructions.2. Stopping Bob: To turn it off, press the button again and wait 2–3 seconds. It stops on its own.3. Short Skirts Warning: If the can has a very short “skirt” (the curled edge), Bob might struggle. You may have to restart it once or twice. I only ran into this issue once, with a John West mackerel ring-pull tin.Aside from that, it’s a beast — cleanly opening cans by separating the lid at the curl. I've tested it on baked beans, tuna, corned beef, and fillet tins. Only one tin gave it trouble, and even then, it nearly managed it.Why I bought it: Every manual can opener I've ever had eventually failed — working once or twice, then twisting out of shape or just becoming useless. This thing works every time.Highly recommended. Just follow the instructions and Bob will never let you down.

The media could not be loaded. It’s early days but initial impressions are amazing! It is so so easy to use, just a press of a button and away it goes. It’s very sharp, and cuts so cleanly so there’s no more wrestling with sharp edged cans. It’s quite chunky, I assume to accommodate the batteries and to support those that need easy grip. I used to really struggle with opening cans for wrist reasons but not anymore!

I have only used this once or twice and it works very well hopefully it will continue to do so as unfortunately the one I had before which was a different brand stopped working after roughly 12 uses the one I am doing this review for seemed to struggle a bit with tins of salmon for example but I think it’s because the lids are not smooth I think they are really good for elderly people like me whose wrists are not as strong it wasn’t too expensive and I really hope it continues to work

Takes a minute to understand how to use but good product. Strong magnet.

Easy to use and easy to clean

Cheap nasty typical Chinese rubbish. You don’t even get batteries for the price. It would be coming back only by accident the packaging was thrown out. I have an old one of a better make, leaves this purchase by a mile works and is a far better quality and 60% cheaper and came with batteries. Be aware.

Very easy to use and does the job without leaving very sharp edges.

I bought this because of arthritis in my thumb and I have been really pleased with the ease of use. It leaves no sharp edges . I wasn't sure how it would work with ring pull tops but it just takes the whole top off no problem.
