Wide variety & comfortable
I love the patterns. When knitting for babies and kids I look for comfort. I've tried a few swatches. These look comfortable, not too limp, too stiff, too knotty or too holey. The fun use of color makes the easy patterns more than gift-worthy. Several patterns have special details I plan to use on other projects. I like that many of the blankets can be used as a base for customized designs. I like that only 2 weights of yarn are used so that you can build up a collection of colors to try several blankets (and keep the cost per blanket down) and you don't have to have a dozen different needle sizes to make more than one of the blankets. I think some knitters and recipients expecting a lot of lace might feel disappointed (though there are some nice lace patterns like "Making Waves" with it's delicate ruffled edge), but I think the patterns are in keeping with today's trends for bold colors, simple lines and easy care. I absolutely love the "Shell Game" pattern with swimming turtles though I think if I make it for a baby or toddler I won't use I-cord for the turtle heads and feet due to the possibility that I might not sew them on well enough to prevent a choking hazard. I could make it as is for an older child. It's just too cute!

Lots of great choices
There are some really nice choices for baby blankets in this book. Most are done with bulky wool so should be fairly quick. There are quite a few that are mostly stockinette stitch with a picture (so colorwork), several made from individual square sewn together, and some nice use of cabling and knit/purl stitch combinations. The difficulty level runs from beginner (1 or 2 choices) to expert with most of them being in between.

Beautiful patterns but many errors
Kind of frustrated with the amount of errors in the book. Should have done more research before I purchased. The baby blankets are beautiful. I have been knitting for many years. I have started the blanket I am working on 3 times, found the corrections on line and still am having issues with the pattern.

Great Inspiration
As a newer knitter - I really like this book because there are projects for lots of different experience levels. I really enjoy modular knitting - and there are several modual projects in the book. The pictures are great and the instructions are clear. I am not advanced enough to be knitting from charts yet - but the charts seemed fairly consice and easy to follow. They are also pretty large - so I would think that would be helpful - making them easy to read. For me - I am not sure any of the projects would be "quick" knits - but I think they would be enjoyable.

Great project book
I actually purchased this for one specific pattern. Now that I have it in hand, there are many patterns I plan to work on. The patterns are well written and very clear. I am not an advance knitter but I do follow these directions and steps. I look forward to working on each one.

bel libro
Ha copertine per bimbi meravigliose con istruzioni comprensibili e ben fatte, facili da seguire (se non si ha praticità con i termini inglesi basta scaricare da internet un vocabolario sulla maglia italiano-inglese).

Better than before, nice blankets, two yarn weights.
This book has 60 baby blankets and I thought most of the pattern had some appeal either on the esthetic side or on the technical. On t6heIn this book almost all of the patterns require color work of some sort, stripes, entrelac, stranded, a lot of intarsia particularly. I would say most of the patterns are of intermediate skill, though a few might require trying a new technique for the first time, for instance the blanket in entrelac. Good news for beginners or knitters in a hurry, there's 5-10 patterns that are very, very simple, knit and purl simple, almost no finishing and only a little color work, mostly in the form of stripes. They still look good too.The explanations are clear, the editing of the book is fine, the book wastes no time trying to show us how to knit with a silly technical section (technically, there is one, but it's on the inside back cover only), and instead it gives us the cutest little lamb stuffed animal pattern there ever was (pattern 61). It's really sweet. I love a bonus! The yarn weights and chunky and and worsted, and even at least once are two worsted worked together (amounting to a bulky). I would have liked a bit more variety, after all Cascade has a sport weight now, but this is a start. Anyway, I can't complain, the book has great patterns and lots of it. It's a really good buy for anyone who plans on knitting a baby blanket more than once.
