Rev-A-Shelf is top of the line when it comes to pull out trash, however, I hate that you are stuck with such small cans for the second drawer pull out. I took matters into my own hands and found Rubbermaid Commercial Wastebasket Trash Container (41QT/10.25 GAL) and it fit like a glove, maximizing trash can capacity with a flawlessly functioning trash pull out. Very easy to install yourself, soft close, looks great, feels great, I highly recommend. The product is of great quality and value.

This was a small, fun project for me. For those that really want the larger 50-quart sized Pull Out Trash Can but don't quite have the dimensions, read on. I really wanted the 50-quart sized bins (x2 for trash and recyclables), but my cabinets were not big enough. However, upon measuring I realized if I used the lower door and upper drawer in the same cabinet, I could make it work. This did require some work. I ended up removing my lower cabinet door and the upper drawer, separating the upper drawer face from the drawer. Using a multitool, I cut the divider in the cabinet to make a single larger opening for the new pull out trash can. I had to remove some other shelving inside the cabinet too and paint areas that were cut/removed. For the door, I reused the lower cabinet door and the upper drawer door mounting them on a 1/2" board that was cut to match the new opening. I also sanded and painted the new backplate taking care to pick screws that did not go too far into the original door faces. Using the new door, I just followed the instructions to mount the Rev-A-Shelf base to the inside of the cabinet and mount the door to the base. It's built to allow small adjustments for the door (tilt forward/back and left/right) before tightening the screws. My only gripe is that some of the screw numbering in the instructions could be better, but you can figure it out. All-in-all, it turned out great. If you want to take my route, I would just make sure to take good measurements before you start cutting up your cabinets, but it is 100% doable.

Expensive but excellent quality and easy to install.

It came with a sheet to lay inside the cabinet to guide where to drill the holes which I found very helpful. The installation did take me a little while but it was easy to follow the instructions, it went in nicely, and slid in and out smoothly. I held off reviewing it to verify the quality. It has been 6 months now and it still works well, slides in and out smoothly. The bar to keep the bins in place needs to be behind the two bins. i'm not sure what the instructions were on that because I threw them out after installing it and had moved it around a few times thinking it would work better between the bins, but it really needs to be behind both. All in all, it is durable, slides smoothly, and works well.

I think this is tremendous value for the money - very study once installed and looks and functions great - but it did take some work to get it there. Advice: be prepared to loosed up the base of the unit and adjust while having the cabinet door mounted loosely to get it all aligned to look right. You need the have the cabinet door centered on the mount, then the mount centered in the cabinet, as well as having the height correct, and the mounts allow for the cabinet door to pitched forward, you have to control that as well. It was more fussy to get that all perfect and I'm glad I had an extra set of hands. My cabinet was inset, and it was a bit wider than the maximum spacers allowed, so I was left to figure that one out on my own. The packaging saves money by using a double sided template, which I didn't realize until I had already marked my holes to drill. It has a template for the single basket and double basket, which are different. So that was about 10 minutes of waster measuring and marking the center-line, etc.

These self-closing shelves are fantastic. Installed one in my sister-in-law's house over ten years ago and one in ours three years ago. Very simple to install and both are still functioning perfectly!

Easy for (hubby) to install, works perfect. This thing changed our life, who knew we were storing our trash can wrong this whole time haha. Now we have two cans, one for recycle, one for trash and our little kitchen scrap/compost bin hangs right side. It's super sturdy, I imagined there would be some wiggle to the door as you pull it open but it's solid. I moved the door pull to the top center and sideways so it's just like a giant drawer. Have a couple holes to patch now but worth it. I did need to use my two shorter trash cans because the two that came with it were too tall for my cabinet, be sure to measure yours. I can't complain about the price although I thought at first it was excessive for what it is but the genius idea of it and the change it made in our day to day life is soooo worth it! - It seems study but I just installed it yesterday. The trash cans fit into the drawer well and it looks easy to clean as well as being attractive. - The one concern is the 15" required opening width is very tight. The tops of the waste bins are 14 7/8" wide. Lining this up was difficult and a trashcan liner bag would make it too tight. The mounting brackets need to go to the inside instead of the outside if the opening is less than 16.5" wide. Other than width it was very easy to assemble and the template was great for locating the holes. The bottom mounting was a lot easier than than mounting side rails in my location (where a trash compactor had been removed and the cabinet thea were on wither side of where it was didn't line up perfectly). - The price seemed high but all garbage drawers are expensive for what they are. Relatively this garbage drawer was a great value compared to the other ones I looked at.

Couldn't be happier with this purchase! Should have done this a long time ago, no more messing with a garbage bucket under the sink and a bag for recyclables. We got the dual 50 litre bins so that we could fit 2 weeks worth of garbage in one and recyclables in the other without having to constantly take it out to the garage. A standard sized green trash bag fits perfectly in the bin. The quality of the hardware is first rate, the install was a breeze. I converted a standard hinged kitchen cabinet door to this slide-out and it only took maybe 30 minutes (though the diagrams in the instructions could be bigger). Operation of the sliders and soft close is smooth and this seems like it is going to last a long time. The best part is that this one was being sold as 'used' and for half the price. The description said 'minor paint scratches' but the only damage was the box had a small tear in it, everything inside was in perfect condition, still newly packaged and no pieces missing. If I had to pay full price I'd probably rate the value for money as a three, because it's still expensive for what it is. Still, pretty awesome. I look forward to tossing things in the bins now!

This is the best. Don’t doubt it just buy it. The only thing is that the price is high. But still it worth it.
