RoadPro RPTT-1 Wooden Tire Thumper, 19-Inches, Assorted Dark or Light Wood

Product was used for checking tires on tractor trailer tires,a total of 18 tires every time I DROP AND HOOK A TRAILER. Tire thumper broke in half today leaving me to have to find other methods for checking tires. I WOULD NOT recommend this product after all.I thought this would stand up to commercial use but i was wrong.

This is a really nice tire thumper. It is the duty of all motorists to maintain a proper pressure in their tires at all times. This is a solid piece of safety equipment, and it looks nice too. It can also be really useful for others, for example just today I was getting gas and a rental car with a family, they appeared to be Kenyan, drove up with visibly low tires. Since I could tell there may be a language barrier, I pulled out my trusty ol' tire thumper and just walked right over to them and started to give their tires some good thumps. Didn't have to say a word, and you could tell by the looks on their faces, that they realized how low their tires were. They immediately sped off to find a working compressor (so fast he forgot to take out the fuel hose, tore it right off!! LOL). Anyways, It just felt good to help a visitor out and really make them feel welcomed. Spread good will to all men, one thump at a time.

This thumper feels great in your hand and sounds good when you thump a tire. But after purchasing it twice I would not recommend it AT ALL. The first one I had broke after thumping 2 tires so I gave the benefit of doubt, maybe it was a one off. I got a refund and purchased a second one and it lasted 3 days and broke as well. I’ve been driving 18 wheelers for numerous years now and I’ve never broke a tire thumper.In short not worth wasting your time and or money.

Well, this unit is good for the intended purpose, thumping tires for a quick check. It is a bit large than I was expecting, but serves the purpose. I mean, it is simply a piece of wood turned round and finished.

I purchased this for my brother for Christmas. It was on his wish list and apparently he thinks the zombie apocalypse is going to be upon us and this will help him with that. It shipped quickly. It appears to be pretty good quality wood and very sturdy. It was dinged up a little bit when it arrived, but I guess if you use it for its intended purpose it is going to get a little dinged up. I assume if you use it on a zombie its gonna get dinged up too, but will ultimately take a lot of force to break. Although I could care less about this thing, my brother likes it and seems to enjoy it, so I would recommend this product. Unfortunately I can't vouch for how good it is as an actual tire thumper.

This is a great gift for any guy/gal. Not only can you use it to check your tires but it would make a great self defense tool while on the road. This fits perfectly in my drivers side door panel for easy access. The copper filled head is just enough counter weight to get a good whack on your tires. I bought the darker color of the two and am pleased with the finish and over all great craftsmanship. The handle has great grip and a leather strap that makes it very hard to drop or to take it away from the user. A solid product and a good buy. Worth the $20! Buy it for yourself or for a gift. I'll be buying a few more for Christmas gifts this yr.

5 tire hits and it broke in half. Looks like good heavy oak inside. Must have had a crack before manufacturing.

i like the price but the grain of the wood should run from handle to barrel not crosswise.......first tire check, handle snapped off..........
