Practical useful design info
Very rare hard to find information. Mr. Valone gives you useful information in the second half of the book that can be used to design and build a homopolar generator to prove the principle.

Save Your Money
This book consists mainly of reprints of previously written articles. The quality of the contributions varies greatly. At the high end are the English translations of the articles on relativity theory by Einstein and Laub. At the low end are the descriptions of visits by extraterrestrials whose spaceships use homopolar-like power generators. Some of the articles are incomplete, that is, they do not contain all of the pages from the article. So if you want to read the whole article, you will have to get it elsewhere. If you are seriously interested in homopolar generators, you need to look elsewhere. Be careful because the hompolar generator attracts more pseudoscience "kooks" than you can imagine!

Great book!
I love this book. It is well written and is put together in a way to really help understand the history and purpose. I advise this book to anyone interested in the Faraday.

this is a dry uninspired book while it does seem to have a great bibliography and copies of open sourced documents from the web. This is not a formal engineering handbook for use by serious student or instructor to present Faraday or other homo-polar concepts. This was a great disappointment but I am glad I have it for use as a bad example while I pursue other sources of formal presentations of this branch of scientific devices and their constructions..

A PRESENT FOR MY HUSBAND
SINCE I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THIS BOOK WAS ABOUT, BUT I WAS GLAD THAT MY HUSBAND WAS HAPPY WITH IT.

Review of Thomas Valone's work in homopolar R&D
Tom has done a good job in providing a text that is a recording of historical events and his own experiences homopolar research and development with a very detailed appendix. Although the homopolar motor is a bit of an anomoly in traditional electromagnetics, Tom provides a reasonable explanation for the experimental results and other developments. The discussion of relativistic effects of rotating systems is quite insiteful and would indicate that classical Electromagnetic theory needs an update!

Good approach for understand it
The Valone boock is a good compilation of Valone's work and homopolar phenomena. If you want to build some weird machine, you can start by reading it but don't believe here is the clue. For this, better read Mr. Bruce de Palma and others.
