This drive is amazing
Love Hitachi drives. Have had good luck with Hitachi drives for years (since they bought IBM's drive business). Sorry to see them get bought out.

I had this HD in MacBook Pro it worked good, until the day the HD had a complete meltdown. It appears the "Journal" is missing or corrupted; now I'm attempting to salvage 4 years of data I don't want to lose.

Drive will fail after 6-13 months of great performance
Do not buy, has issues with loading/unloading of read head. Will only work fine if you permanently disable power management on this drive, which works for linux users, but, is difficult to do that on other operating systems I guess. You can do it temporarily though, using hdparm and similar tools.Clicking noise issue:[...]

Quality brand, very high capacity
I've been in the IT field for many years and for my ThinkPad laptops I prefer Hitachi drives. Their facilities are IBM's former Global Storage Division, and are thus top quality. I've only had one just up and crash on me over the years, and that was quite a while ago. This is a whopper of a drive but there is a 1TB version out now as well.Western Digital (WDC) recently bought out Hitachi, I hope it does not mean the end of high quality drives. I will say that one of my ThinkPads has been using WDC drives for quite a while with no ill effects, so the consolidation should have a happy ending.

Sehr leise Platte
Ich hatte diese Platte in einem Medion Desktop erworben. Als ich diesen nun nach gut einem Jahr zur Display-Reparatur einschicken musste, habe ich diese ausgebaut und in ein kleines USB-Gehäuse gesetzt, und durch eine die her bestellte baugleiche ersetzt.Sie läuft auch in diesem Alu-Gehäuse quasi unhörbar und bietet sich daher hervorragend für Medien-Anwendung wie z.B. einem Festplattenrecorder an.

Ottime prestazioni, silenzioso e nessuna vibrazione
Fantastico, nonostante sia un disco a 7200 rpm è silenziosissimo, molto più del vecchio Hitachi da 120GB e 5400 rpm che avevo prima. Montato su un MacBook Pro 2,2 (late 2006) va benissimo e ora il mac è molto più veloce e reattivo con una capienza di 750GB!!!! Inoltre nessuna vibrazione riscontrata.Consigliatissimo, ho scelto questo e non il Western Digital Scorpio Black da 750GB perché molti si lamentano del rumore e delle vibrazioni generate. Le prestazioni di questi due dischi sono infatti comparabili, forse lievemente a favore del WD ma nell'uso di tutti i giorni sono impercettibili, quindi molto meglio prediligere la silenziosità!

Bon HD à prix soft
75O Go (enfin presque...) à 7200 T/mn avec un cache de 8 Mo (ou 16 ?) pour ce prix là c'est pas mal.Seul petit bémol: assez bruyant en remplacement de disque de portable (pas en disque externe)
