(Still) The best drill I have ever owned - I love it!
I generally don't like power tools. I find them too noisy and I never feel like I have control of them. I guess like anything it takes practice, but I'd rather practice with peaceful hand tools. I had tried electric screwdrivers in the past and they were rubbish, and I have witnessed the results of some builders destroying the heads of screws with careless drill drivering. However, when it came to a decking project I decided that I was never going to be able to do all that screwing by hand, and so I took the plunge to buy a drill driver that everyone seems to be using these days (you youngsters with your modern ways!). I found a review of this on a website somewhere - which sadly I have lost track of - and it seemed that this was going to be light enough, but powerful enough for most of what I needed. So I bought this kit with charger and spare battery. I was planning to mainly use it as a drill driver, as I didn't expect the drill, especially the hammer action, to be up to much. I was very wrong. The driver works perfectly, and the torque control is pretty good, meaning I don't destroy the screws, or embed them too far. The drill is great for wood - I have drilled 13mm diameter holes through 100mm fence posts easily. The most surprising thing is that the hammer action works really well for drilling into solid walls. I really though this little thing would lack sufficient power to do it, but it is quick and easy, and never felt like it was straining. It was also polite enough to do this fairly queitly. Having two batteries is great. The battery has died suddenly on more than one occassion, and having the spare already charged means no waiting. When left in the charger unplugged I did find the spare lost its charge, so that was a bit of a pain. I have started taking it out now but not sure I have tested the spare yet (getting old, can't remember). I certainly won't be marking it down for this. So I really love using this. Just works really well. I can't compare it to any other drill driver, but I do know that I would recommend this one to anyone who needs one. I'd still be screwing the decking ten years from now if I hadn't bought this and now I just want to put screws into everything.... Thanks Ryobi for a great product, and Amazon for selling it cheaper than everyone else! Edit: This drill is still going strong and the batteries are still good. I know that not everyone has the same experience as I do with this product, but I still love it. I have another decking project to do now so we'll see how it copes with that.

Best DIY combi drill I've ever bought. Very impressed..!
I have to say, this is my first new cordless drill for many years.....and my first foray into the Ryobi One + eco-system. To say I'm impressed is putting it mildly; homeownr / DIY tools are now way better quality than what trade tools used to be 20 years ago! The best part, of course, is the ease of obtaining replacement batteries nowadays. My old drills were Ni-CAD, which shows how long it's been since my last one. Cheap'n'cheerful drills used to come with just a single Ni-CAD battery pack.....and when it was worn out, you threw the drill away. Crazy! With Ryobi, the sheer range of replacement battery packs, in all different capacities & run-times is unreal. And the range of tools is unbelievable. I'd no idea the industry had reached this level of competence. I can see this lasting me for a LONNNG time to come. Very impressed.

Ryobi R18PD3-215GZ: Your Go-To Cordless Combi Drill for Everyday DIY
The Ryobi R18PD3-215GZ is a handy 18V cordless combi drill that comes as part of the ONE+ system. It includes two 1.5Ah batteries and a charger, and the bright Hyper Green color definitely stands out in the tool kit. Performance It’s powerful enough for general DIY around the house, from putting up shelves to tackling light masonry work (thanks to the hammer function). The variable speed trigger and adjustable torque settings help you avoid over-tightening screws or damaging softer materials. Battery Life The two 1.5Ah batteries won’t last forever if you’re drilling lots of holes in heavy material, but they’re perfectly fine for light to medium tasks. Plus, they charge fairly quickly, so downtime isn’t a huge issue. Ergonomics It’s comfortable to hold, and the built-in LED work light is super helpful in dimly lit spaces. The overall weight is pretty balanced, so your arm won’t tire out too quickly. Pros Good balance of power for most DIY tasks Part of the ONE+ range, so batteries are interchangeable with other Ryobi tools Comes with two batteries and a charger in the box Comfortable grip and easy to handle Cons 1.5Ah batteries can drain fast if you’re drilling into tougher materials Hammer function is more for occasional use than heavy-duty masonry Bottom Line It’s a solid choice if you need a versatile drill for everyday projects. The ONE+ system is a plus if you plan on growing your collection of Ryobi tools, and having two batteries keeps you going longer. Overall, it’s a handy piece of kit for most home and DIY tasks.

Top drill at a great price
Why did you choose this product over others?: There was a lot of choice when I was looking to get a 2nd battery combi drill, this one with the 2 batteries and charger was a good price. Also Ryobi are a very good brand for tools Drill quality: The trigger is very easy to control your speed from extremely slow to full pull. It's a lot quieter than my Bosch drill. Weight: This drill is not heavy at all. It balances in the hand nicely to be able to drill straight.
