Product Description Keela's flagship jacket capable of taking you through the toughest conditions imaginable. It helped conquer the highest mountains on the planet and is used by Mountain Rescue Teams, Tactical Forces and expedition teams all around the World. Reviewed by OE magazine, Adventure Travel and Nepal Himalayan. Keela’s System Dual Protection (SDP) offers unrivalled protection when it comes to waterproofing and breathability in any conditions. WHY? – SDP is a unique double layer fabric system with an “Air Gap”. The tough/durable outer layer ensures it can handle wear and tear while a lightweight inner layer offers comfort and creates the 'Air-Gap' to build up warmth. SDP is 100% waterproof, breathable, warm and reduces inner condensation to keep the wearer protected. SDP is used in tough and extreme conditions by Mountain Rescue Teams, Police Forces and Military users all around the World and is trusted by its users. THE SCIENCE Weather conditions affect the breathability of ALL fabrics and garments. During heavy rain and low temperatures (around 0C to 10C) breathable, waterproof garments stop breathing and experience the ‘occurrence of dew point’ or ‘cold-bridging’. This results in a build-up of condensation. A warm body at 37C will struggle to cope with these conditions and the wearer becomes uncomfortable if the moisture and condensation is not moved away from the body. SDP uses two layers of fabrics with hydrophilic membranes and an “Air Gap” in between, to reduce the build-up of condensation. The operating principle can be compared to double-glazing systems used for windows, which stops warm air coming into direct contact with cold air. The “Air-Gap” also acts as an insulator to keep in body warmth. The best insulator is air! The two layers of SDP then ensure the garment remains breathable in cold, wet conditions by a “mechanical” means. The outer layer is a waterproof, breathable fabric with a hydrophilic laminated membrane, so does the work to protect from outside conditions. The inner layer is a revolutionary high wicking liner, laminated onto a hydrophilic film. This inner layer acts like a sponge, absorbing any moisture or water vapour inside the jacket and transporting it away from the body. This acts like a one-way valve taking moisture and condensation away from the body through the lining and into the “Air Gap”; the waterproof laminate ensures the moisture cannot wick back through to the body. It therefore passes through into the “Air Gap” and escapes either through the breathable outer layer at its own rate or by force mechanical ventilation of the “Air Gap” by movement of the wearer. Good Jacket. Works as well as more expensive jackets
It's a good jacket, waterproof, breathable, light weight, good pockets, etc. However, there are some design niggles regarding the hood and collar. To get the hood up or down the collar needs to be unzipped and when the collar is fully zipped it can strangle you, and while it fits well in general the collar is too small at least it is on me

keela's quality shine's through
even the velcro is super tough !! the fit is perfect just in case i need layer's, the hood is the best i've tried, pit vent's are perfect, love the pocket's, it's not a minimalist jacket like the over priced top names are providing us with these day's, watching the water "bead" and roll off brought a smile to my hard to please face, it's so good keela will be the only brand i buy,i work outdoor's and holiday in the highland's so i know a good piece of kit.

Excellent severe weather jacket
This jacket replaces my old Keela Munro. It's significantly lighter than the old model. It's warmer than most shell jackets so not ideal for summer use.Very protective, totally waterproof, breathability I think is better than goretex in real world Scottish conditions.Proper mountain hood, pit zips.No longer made in Scotland, but seems well built.Olive is a kind of grey-green that is good for wildlife watching without looking too military. Fabric is quieter than most mountain jackets, but not as quiet as peached hunting jackets. Th colour is much better than the old 'Covert' colour which was abit light.Sizing wise I went for the M, I'm 178cm and 80kg and it's pretty spot on. Plenty of room for a fleece, and just enough room for a belay jacket instead of the fleece. It's longer than the current trend for very short jackets, but nor is it a full thigh length. As a three season jacket for Scottish weather I think it is the best available at any price.

Only its velcro lets it down
Fantastic jacket. so good that I've bought another as a gift. It's a bit too warm after spring in Spain but it's great in Scotland (even at sea level). Deserves to be more widely known. My only bugbear (not sure if it's been improved yet) is the velcro for the storm flap of the main zip. It's classic velco and sticks to practically everything. It would be worth a few extra pounds to have the type of velcro that doesn't attach itself to woollen jumpers.still minor points aside, this is a great jacket!

Keela Munro Jacket
I bought this jacket as a volunteering professional. It lives up to its reputation of doing what it said on the label. I have since bought the salopettes to go with the jacket to make my winter wear complete. I have spoken to other rescue professionals and they say the same thing about their Keela equipment. In my view a good buy from Amazon.

Great Value Great quality
The Munro is a perfect jacket for outdoor use, the sizes do come up large the M is the same size as my old Large Euro size 52 Eider jacket. I can still get a mico fleece with a gilet comfortably under it with a base layer. If you want to get a down jacket under it for extreme use then best go for your normal size if not go a size down. Note.. this sizing only goes for this Munro jacket the Advanced Belay and Zeus Jackets are normal sizes in my case I bought the large. I love this gear keela have a great range of clothing that I have just discovered. Great job Keela and Amazon good delivery and price. Thanks

Well worth it
I've had this for a couple of weeks now and when it arrived I was surprised how light weight it was (bought as a winter jacket). My first thought was I'd have to get a fleece for it, but I gave it a chance and was surprised how warm it actually was as is.It goes to show you that if you keep the rain and wind out how much warmer you are.I saw a review about the light weight zip but I think it'll be fine, looks sturdy enough and you have studs and Velcro fastening as well.Overall, well made and does exactly what it claims to do.

This is an excellent, comfortable rainproof jacket
I can't agree more what others who wrote positive feedbacks here :-) ... This is an excellent, comfortable rainproof jacket. I haven't heard before for Keela, but will definitely use them in a future :-)
