ES2284-BRK Pocket Survival Kit Tin

It was better than expected simply because it is thinner than standard tins. I didn't know this at the time of ordering but is like half the depth of a standard Altoids type tin. It is same length and width but the depth is much thinner. Why am I not disappointed? Because this worked perfectly for my fire kit. Most of the items in this kit are flat and gave me more room in the bag for more items it worked perfectly. In this tin I have the following: 1 magnesium bar and striker, 10 matches, 2 strips match strike paper, cotton felt cloth (makes char cloth), dryer lent. If you tightly tape the edges of the box that overlap and snap with electrical tape it makes the box waterproof which is what I have done. This is my backup fire kit. I also keep a housed all in one striker rod and 2 lighters. This is the third and last line of fire making. It would work well in most environments. Hope this helps someone on the fence. It is a great little box and it looks good. Fit and finish is what you would expect from Esee....high quality item.

Handy little tin for a decent price. Use it in my Esee knife carrier. Holds a fire starter and a few misc small items in a secure container.

This is basically a glorified Altoid tin.If you want to spend the least amount of money buy and eat the mints. You will then have a good container.I really like the ESEE/Randle graphics so I have no problem with spending a few extra dollars. This also contains a nice laminated card with basic signaling illustrations.

Nice little tin - not really much different or better than an Altoids tin, but love the appearance for carrying first aid kit in my small go-bag.

It's just an empty tin for $9.20! I could have bought 4 Altoids tins with mints in them for around the same price! Rip off.

I expected a quality item from ESEE. Upon arrival, it says "Made in China". Which is okay, Chinese can make decent thing, as long as the company commissioning is reputable. Problem being that, upon opening the package, I found the hinge to be broken and the metal wrapped. I got a good full refund from the exceptional customer service of Amazon.Maybe I got a lemon, but please take this into account when you consider your purchase. I really liked the look of it, but I may just grab some Altoids or blank tins from now on.

Nice tin. Could be about a 1/16" bigger all around though. ESEE is awesome though.
