Talk French Grammar Paperback – 20 Aug. 2014

An excellent Grammar for beginners to moderate levels which I bought as a backup/reinforcement for the book used at evening classes. It is definitely not advanced but does cover all tenses inc the subjunctive and could set you on your way to A'level with no problem. It belongs to the BBC Talk series and cross references with their online site.. It's well indexed and clear to follow; not a stand alone book to learn from but a good reference book. It has a lot of grammar in it but is laid out in a formal but friendly way. Not only that but it is a lightweight paperback & easy to carry with you to classes. I had been so impressed with the Italian one that I bought this French one as well. I have a friend who was so impressed with this one that she intends to suggest to her Spanish class that they buy the Spanish one

What a clear guide to French grammar. It manages to be concise yet useful for a beginner/intermediate. I have never been a big fan of grammar, but this book is ideal for using for dipping into (an easy read) or using as a reference book. I would certainly recommend it. From order to delivery was less than a week using the free delivery - as usual Amazon comes up trumps.

This as a present for my mother was perfect. She had just started a French class and wanted a straightforward grammar which was not too dry or demanding. I looked through this book and found it well thought out and clear. She was thrilled with it. Job done!.

Together with the Talk French 1 and 2 books this is an ideal addition for learning french. It sets out all the grammar that you need to know clearly and easy to read. you can also dip in every now and again to check up as the chapters are individual.

I can thoroughly recommend this to beginners and more advanced learners of French, particularly adults. Excellent value for money. It might appeal to GCSE French students in schools as well. Good layout and plenty of opportunities to test yourself. Complements the BBC course or stands alone.

a clear and comprehensive guide to French grammar- no nonsense, no frills, plenty of comfortable progress checks- perfect learning material. As a graduate of the Sorbonne, I would quibble with one or two expressions, but generally excellent.

I'm a complete beginner and bought this to use alongside the study materials in my in-person French classes. Great little book full of well explained grammar terms which helps me study and prepare better for the classes. The style of explaining the grammar is very clear and uses comparison with English throughout the book which helps a lot if you are a native/fluent English speaker. Absolutely recommended.

Perfect grammar reference. I like this little gem so much that I ordered an extra copy to keep by the tv for browsing during commercials, AND I've also put it on my kindle. Each section has a short quiz so one can see if they're grasped the salient points. I'm so glad I discovered this reference book. Highly, highly recommended.

This book is clear and concise with excellent examples. I have the hard copy and the the e-book. I take it everywhere with me.
