Pretty legit, especially compared to Rothco jungle boots
I was in the U.S. Army for 8 years and wore out quite a few pairs of name brand combat boots, from what I've experienced so far these jungle boots are fairly comparable to Altama, they are panama sole boots though, these wear out faster than others, its just how it is, the sole is made for mud, not asphalt and sidewalks, this is the same if you spend 200 bucks on a pair or 25... These are miles and miles better than my initial Rothco jungle boots for sure though, they are unexpectedly comfortable and break in was just a one day process (broke them in Army style, filled them up with hot bathtub water and let them soak till they drained themselves, then put them on and went on a long walk, then wore them till that night, this makes the leather form to your foot in a pretty pain free way compared to having blisters for 2 weeks breaking a pair in dry. As the name might imply though they are very wide, I'm not a fan of that part but my research determined that was the most quality for the least price, but they do move around on my foot on the sides, not a deal killer but a slight inconvenience none the less. If you're considering them I would recommend to go for it, you will not be disappointed, I was actually quite shocked, I expected far less in the quality and robustness categories.

Great boot & great price!
After 2 years of constant abuse, these boots finally gave out. The sole on one boot is completely separated and the other boot isn’t far behind. However I have wore them for just about every occasion imaginable. They’ve been through mud, snow, water, etc. a lot. They still have quite a bit of tread left. They are not waterproof but are fairly water resistant. Very comfortable but the nylon is pretty uncomfortable (itchy) to me so I either wear tall socks or tuck in my pants. All in all, great boots for the price. Will probably buy another pair at some point.

horribly made boots
I had my boots for a month and the tread is almost completely worn out. Negative stars. I retired from the military for 30 years. They are not military grade boots as stated. that was the reason I bought them. For $50 they should have lasted longer than a month. I The sole inside kept curling up under my foot. I took them out and had to buy new inserts. I wish I could get my $$money back. I would send the boots back. Negative stars.

Pretty Decent for the Price!!!
For the price they are pretty good quality! Way better then the Rothco jungle boots. No chemical odor as mentioned before in other reviews. Doesnt say wide on the box or tag, but they do feel like a wide fit. Insoles they come with are kinda thin. I put a set of odor eaters and some arch support insoles in them. Great support in adverse conditions. Padding around ankle is thin but ok for me. I recommend wearing thicker socks for these. Breaking them in is a chore but take this tip to make it easier!!! Take the insoles out and soak these suckers in hot bathtub water for about an hour. Then put on some thicker socks and go for a walk. That streaches the leather and nylon out faster for an easier break in time. Use some neatsfoot oil in the leather bits to keep it fresh and crack free. The laces are a little cheap, but I did away with them and laced mine up with paracord. One thing to also keep in mind, these soles are a softer rubber and will wear quickly when you normally wear them in asphalt and concrete. They were designed for mud and dirt. And they bite very well in mud!!! They also drain and dry fast too. I had them completely submerged a few times hiking and they dried by the end of the 5K hike. Id recommend as a decent alternative to Rothco boots and if your just a casual hiker like me and don't want to spend a small fortune on expensive boots.

Rugged, Durable, Comfortable.
I left my Corcoran III Marauders in Colombia a few years ago when I was there as a student. Finally the longing for a good, sturdy pair of boots got to be too much and I found these. Solid construction, break in easily, comfortable as you'd like. If you can get a better pair of boots at this price please let me know where.

1.5 yrs later Zipper guard could be a 1/4 in longer catches and makes it a pain often to zip. They are awsome just not waterproof at all wetsocks if u walk in a dewy yard.. I beat stomp and toe kick everything construction and tile jobs its held up. Needs new cushions in a yr but still works well.. Just not agaist nails.

Just like my old jungle boots!
Wanted a pair of boots that were just like my old jungle boots in the service, and these are them. They break in easy, without causing blisters and after 6 months of constant wear at my work, they still look like new! Will be buying these again once the pair I have now wear out!

Fell apart after wearing about 12 times doing yard work
It fit great till they started to fall apart I've only had the boots 3 month and maybe wore about a dozen times recently used them to dig a whole in my backyard and the soles on both boots came off the boots and one of the breathing grommets popped out not sure if this was just a defect or poor craftsmanship I did my kick in the Marines and I've put more beatings on jungle boots then just a little mud
