I was apprehensive when I purchased this but decided to give it a try. It works better than expected. Very pleased.

Very useful while shore carp fishing !
Great small sonar ! i use it when carp fishing from the shore to ascertain depth and shelf location in order to more accurately to place baits. Also marked fish well and for my use( just to mark the area in front of me batteries are sufficient long lasting. On white background it is quite readable. One improvement I would suggest is a rod holder device to place it while prospecting depths/fish locations. All in all content with device. Excellent return on investment.

Basic.
I like that it functions as it should and is able to detect fish unseen from the surface. Wish it had playback so we could use data for charting and recollection of conditions during and after use, but I guess that would be asking a bit much for such a price point, so ride what you've got and make the best of it. Easy to use. Instructions are in ENGLISH as well, and in a font that doesn't need magnification to set it up. Definitely better than blind sight fishing 💯👁

No good for Ice Fishing
If you throw it underneath the ice it works OK, but the walls of the hole throw off the sonar. I am sure this would work great in open water.

Great fun on kayak.
Not a fisher person, just curious what was underneath us as we kayak. Yes, it shows the fish swimming by, as proof we could see them underneath in the clear water. Nice too that it shows the depth of water and contour of bottom. We take it out with us kayaking just for the curiousness of our underwater surroundings. Added entertainment on our journeys.
