Big and heavy, but educational and entertaining
Rating system:1 star = did not like2 star = it was okay3 star = liked it4 star = really liked it5 star = it was amazingFirst, and most obvious thing, I got this in hardcover, and it's huge. I'm talking almost full ruler tall, 9 inches wide, and over 300 pages. It's pretty unwieldy to hold, depending how you like to hold your books. I like to hold mine higher, so it's better for my neck, and I almost smacked myself in the face a few times while turning the pages. The pages are also very glossy, so they stick together when trying to turn them. I forgot to mention that for the Greek Gods book as well. I'm sure this book could have been a 600 or so page regular sized hardcover just fine, but my guess is they didn't want to scale down the pictures. They aren't frequent, but there are full page pictures scattered throughout.Something I didn't understand the need for was, there were random funny quotes from the text positioned and blown up. Like, Percy would say something funny, and then a couple lines down, the same way you would insert a small image, that sentence would be placed there as if to repeat the joke. Like, "haha did you catch that funny part? Well, here it is again just in case."I can see it being effective for someone skimming the book in store to try to grab their attention, but to someone reading the book at home, it seemed unnecessary.Anyway, Percy Jackson is the narrator for these Greek Hero stories, not all of them are demi-gods. I think this is likely far more interesting than a school text book version, but maybe not as detailed. Hercules was definitely glossed over because his section only covers his 12 labors. Percy puts his own spin on the tales, and makes them as family friendly as possible. He also inserts his own two cents every so often. I didn't get to learn any Greek mythology in school, but I've always been interested, so I thought this book was a neat way to learn more than just what the series has been tossing out.I think I liked the Greek Gods book more than this one. I'm not exactly sure why.

warning: very big and heavy book for a child but still recommended!
The media could not be loaded. My daughter and my oldest son loves Harry Potter series, and they have read the entire book series twice! However, my second son was not a big fan of Harry Potter but he was attracted to Greek mythology so he loved the Percy Jackson series. So we bought the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and he ended up reading the series twice! After he read the series twice, it was no brainer to buy this Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes book, which he also loved reading. I highly recommend this for any children who enjoyed reading Harry Potter books or even if they were not fan of Harry Potter like my 2nd son. Please note that this hardcover book is very big and heavy. It may be too big and heavy for a younger child. If the paperback version also has illustrations like this one, I would actually recommend the paperback version, which would save few dollars as well. But still, this is 5 out of 5 stars and I highly recommend this book to any children!Hope my video and photos were useful... and if they were, please click on the helpful button below. Thank you!

My daughter is obsessed with Percy Jackson & she loved this companion book because it tells the stories behind the stories. She hasn’t put it down for two weeks & keeps talking to us about Greek gods.

Awesome signed book!
Recently bought a bunch of these rick riordan books I don’t own since most are on sale for $8 (finally got around to magnus chase; i was really missing out its wonderful) and this one arrived in very good shape! Most of the time the books i order are a bit damaged (wrinkled jacket, torn near edges, sticky??? residue on jacket and whatnot) but this one was the picture of perfection. It was a very fun read of course, and I’m not sure if all books are like mine, but the one I received is deadass signed by rick riordan... i saw the signature the day i got this book but since it was written over the illustrators name, i assumed it was john rocco’s signature. But today, i saw a post online of someone showing their trials of apollo book signed and I realized it was the same as the one in my book and googled rick riordan’s signature and sure enough... its his! Maybe I just got lucky haha

A Wonderful Introduction to the Stories of Heroes
This is a great introduction to an irreverent take on the myths of the Ancient Greek world. The previous book focused on the Gods. This one focuses on the heroes. In this book you are given really funny takes on the stories of Perseus, Psyche & Cupid, Phaethon, Otera, Daedalus, Theseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, Cyrene, Orpheus, Hercules, and Jason. Some of these stories end in tragedy. Some end happily. But throughout them all Riordan infuses his wit and and style. The stories are a pleasure to read, even including all the anachronistic touches. I would still recommend reading the stories from other books in addition to these. The others are are classics for a reason - because they are timeless. Riordan's stories will feel dated when people read them generations from now because they have no idea what he is referencing. In addition to the stories, there is a great bibliography that serves for more reading after this book. Having grown up on Greek myths, and read some of the books from his bibliography, I love how he included those books there for minds that are inspired to learn more about one of the most important civilizations that continues to affect our present day world.

Ottimo acquisto

Greek heros ... totally funny
I love the books of Rick Riordan. For me it is pure fun to read the classic greek stories in this humoristic version. If you know them too, you will smile at how some famos heros are described here.
