Our Q&A a Day: 3-Year Journal for 2 People

My girlfriend and I have really enjoyed the questions in this book! They're all fairly different and diverse so it has been a fun going-to-bed ritual for us to go through and answer a question each night to unwind. It's led to some fun debates and discussions. When on the second and third years, it is the same question but now that it's been a year its possible to see if your answer has changed after all of the time that's passed. It's a pretty neat idea. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to try something fun and new, especially given how it's a fairly cheap book. It even has the illusive February 29th

Great for couples who want to start planning a future and are iffy about their wants. It's definitely a book that'll bring insight into your relationship and it'll help you figure out if it's what you both want.

Mostly fun book. Sometimes the questions felt a little ambiguous or are hard to answer. My partner couldn't think of "I worry uncontrollably when____". He is not a worrier by any measure. Also 'Describe an ideal date night' and 'describe one perfect day with your partner' were similar enough that they should have been more than 2 days apart. Some really just do not apply to either me or my hubby- I feel completely spoiled when you____. He does not spoil me. I could not think of a answer (sounds sad maybe but he just isn't a spoiler). How many hours did you spend in front of a screen today? Sometimes we do the book in the morning other times at night, that happened to be a morning question when we woke up so no screen time even though I can guarantee you it would have been a few hours for each one of us by the days end. Who does your partners talk a lot about right now?- Um. No one. We have a stable friend group and talk to multiple people regularly, there isn't really a time I can think of though when my partner was talking ABOUT someone a lot. If a friend is having trouble he talks to them a lot, hours and hours for days in a row. Or he talks about a new game or show or toy but not about a person. I think the idea is good of a question a day and comparing answers and tracking how they will change is fun and interesting. It's simple and quick and I've enjoyed it. A customizable one would probably be better as some answers will never change. Guess how many cups of coffee has your partner has had today- 0. Neither one of us drink it. And some as I've said do not seem to apply, but this was worth the price and time of filling it out, highly recommend.

Terrific little book for an couple regardless of relationship length.

EXPECTATIONS: Moderate I bought this as a last minute gift for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. I am an artist and a writer who enjoys documentation of all forms, and I thought that this would be a fun little exercise to do every once in awhile. REALITY: Blown away Only two weeks in, this journal has become much more than "a fun little exercise." It is something that I look forward to doing every morning when I wake up. It has become a part of my daily routine, and I can't wait to answer the questions day after day. My boyfriend most definitely feels the same way. Not only is it fun, this journal has been the beginning of a lot of great conversations in our relationship. Even the silliest questions, (ie "What's the softest thing you are wearing today?") are a cause for self reflection and discussion, since I get to wear my PJs (I work from home), and my boyfriend's softest thing are his socks (poor sucker goes into a corporate office day after day). More serious questions have led to conversations about race (we are an interracial couple), culture, body image, etc. I am truly looking forward to seeing how our answers change over the years, and I can't wait to see all of the questions that are in store for us for the upcoming year! OTHER OBSERVATIONS: Bookmark: It has been mentioned in another review, but I really wish there was a bookmark in the journal, since it is large. I taped a piece of yarn to the spine, and we are using that as a bookmark. It works just fine, but aesthetically, an actual bookmark would have been helpful. Size: It is a small (7x5.5 inches), thick (1 inch) book, which keeps the answers short and concise. This is important, because I don't feel pressure to cultivate a long, articulate answer when I pick up the journal. Because of the thickness, the book doesn't sit open very well, but it as a soft, flexible spine, which is nice. Design: As an artist, design is important for me, and this book sits out on our coffee table all the time. I love how it looks, and I love the simple but elegant layout of the pages. SAMPLE QUESTIONS: For anyone who wants more sample questions in determining if this journal is right for you, here are some I found while randomly flipping through the journal: "If you could give your partner a superpower, what would it be?" "What's the most spontaneous thing you did this week?" "How have you grown this year?" "I've had quite enough of ________." "What's one piece of encouragement your partner could use today?" FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a wonderful journal, a great addition to our daily routine, and a painless way to always be engaging in our relationship, finding out new things about each other, and getting an interesting perspective into each other's lives. I would recommend it to everyone. I seriously cannot think of any relationship that would not benefit from it.

I have bought this journal 4 times now, once for me, once for a birthday gift, and twice for weddings/bridal showers. It is a really neat concept and the couples I have given it to seem to love it. My husband and I write in it every day, it is a fun, quick together activity for a couple of any age. It's a hoot to go back and look at old entries. I've never had any problems with slow shipping or damaged journals. I would definitely buy again once we finish ours in a year. I think most of the questions are great; though a couple we didn't have anything to write, so we crossed out the prompt and made up our own. 5 stars. Recommendation: It would be nice though if the manufacturer had another similar style journal with a different set of prompts, so you could switch back and forth between the two different journals every couple years, getting new questions and stuff.

Totally Fun! I recommend it as a cute Valentine's Day gift for your writerly partner. We weren't totally consist ant last year but a looking forward to starting year TWO and seeing how different the answers are. Nicely made, good size (not too much nightstand real estate).

My wife and I love writing in our journal. It provides a nice experience everyday and helps us to learn more about each other which we didn't think possible after being together for over 7 years. It provides great prompts that are funny, informative, cute and so much more and with it covering three years really allows you to see how much you have grown as a couple and as individuals. Highly recommend for all couples!

This item is absolutely gorgeous. It's the perfect way to record our relationship, a little reminder every day to answer the questions. I look forward everyday to being able to answer the questions and I am always looking forward to see what my boyfriend's answers are, it brings us closer in little ways each day :) I highly recommend this book to any couple!

This journal is such a thoughtful gift for a couple. I can't stress enough how lovely it is! I was given one myself as a gift and I loved the idea of it so much that I bought one for a friend as part of a wedding gift, and it went very down well. It's a great way to document a couple's feelings over the years and a lovely keepsake to look back on and particularly fun to see how the answers change over time. I also think it's a really endearing way to encourage communication on topics you might not otherwise discuss in every-day conversations. The cover design is appealing and refreshing in that it's relatively gender neutral, the paper is good quality, and even the font is appealing and suited to the tone of the book. The questions are varied and give you food for thought, including: 'If you could give your partner a superpower, what would it be?', 'Being with you feels like...', 'What is your partner an expert on?', 'Name one single friend you'd love to set up on a blind date'. So far, I've personally found it a little difficult to keep up with being in a long-distance relationship Mon-Fri but am determined to get back into it soon!
