A disappointment
I was expecting more "insider" type information on fine art printing to help me take my print craft to the next level. Unfortunately this just hashes over a lot of basic info. If you don't know anything about printing this will be a good book. If you are looking for detailed info on stuff like selective sharpening and local contrast - don't bother.

Top Notch
This is an excellent book. I've been able to get some excellent prints using the techniques described by the author. It is Photoshop oriented. I been fine art printing for about 18 months. I've been able to develop some images that were previously eluding me. I've gotten some very nice complements on these prints.Well worth the reading.

Very thorough guide to pushing your photos to the next level
If your photos spend most of their time on your hard drive and your Facebook page, it's time to make prints! You may not realise the near-professional quality you can produce on your home inkjet printer by using even fairly simple photo editing software like Lightroom and Aperture. This thorough guide explains all the possibilities for improving your photos such as by changing colours, converting to B&W, fixing colour cast, improving contrast, maximising saturation, etc.If this sounds rather basic, you'll be surprised because this book is pitched at photo enthusiasts ready to take that next step and put their prints on the walls for other people to appreciate. However, everything is explained step by step, with lots of screen captures and practical 'before and after' samples. It has in-depth guides to colour profiling, testing different photographic paper and creating books which are printed on-demand. There is also an introduction to experimental printmaking, like custom paper coatings, plus helpful tips on what frames suit which photos best and how to store your prints safely. At over 150 pages I found this to contain a wealth of information, all in plain English and thoroughly explained. An inspirational read!

Not a good guide.
Neither a good technical guide nor a thoughtful discussionof aesthetic issues. Another instance of a skilled practitioner unable to explain their pracice.
