This is a great folding razor, not really meant as a work knife. A great deal at $70
July 20, 2019 Update. Still five stars. Just wish I could buy these through some other platform or walk in store. Alright. One screw was missing at the beginning, so I reached out to the company for a screw. They were very cool and said they would send me a new screw. Amazon immediately processed me for a refund. Not what I wanted, but ok. Well, yesterday, a package came in the mail from the company in Japan with a bag of screws, another wipe cloth, another Miki burlap sack for the knife, and a knife pouch with a nice little pocket folder, made of 440 (let's assume 440A and not C, but still really nice) and the G10 scales, that will now be added to my rotation of EDC assortment. Used Loctite on the body screws of the razor to prevent them from accidentally coming out again. 100% great deal. Now, if Amazon would be 100%. Fourth time in a month that Amazon has screwed up, the other three not in my favor at all, to the point I asked for a refund on one before the delivery. Last picture is of the gift knife sent with the screws for good customer relations directly from the company.Ok, I had been looking at various brands in this and similar designs. I always have my doubts about tools and instruments before I purchase them, and also until I have had the chance to try them. Now, for all those SMART people out there that want to complain and say this is not Damascus, well, you're right in a sense but you are wrong. Damascus is from that region where two types of steel were folded multiple times with one was softer but more flexible and one harder and more brittle were forge welded together to made a more flexible yet stronger blade. In this sense every knife now that is folded multiple times with two metals is that type of steel including those that are laminated together over a core of a more hard and brittle steel at the edge. This folding razor is one of those with possibly a VG10 steel at the core (what most similar knives in this price range from Japan and China are using) with multiple layers of it and a more flexible steel layers over it toward the spine, giving the edge strength and the rest of the blade flexibility. Now, about what you get for $69-70. I have never heard of this brand. I usually only buy Spyderco in VG10 or harder powder stainless and tool steels. Now, for traditional American knives, I buy 420 HC or 440C stainless. Like I stated, I had my doubts. Well, proof is in the pudding, as the old saying goes. I received a package with substantial weight. In the package was a box with the plastic wrapped folding liner lock razor in a nice nylon pouch, a hemp like bag, a micro fiber cleaning cloth, and a credit card emergency knife as an added bonus gift. All good quality. Now for the razor. It is a razor that I would not use as an everyday carry like most of my other thicker bladed pocket knives. This is designed to be a straight razor first. As with any straight razor, sure, you can use it as a whittler, a rope cutter, a letter opener, but it is truly meant as a straight razor. It does not have the flex of some of my older true Solingen steel razors, but it seems to perform just as well right out of the box without even being stropped. Even on the thickest gray hairs. It is solid. The G10 scales look good, the fit is perfect, no gaps, chips, bad cuts, or anything else you find in cheap manufacturing or truly handmade knives. The pivot is smooth without wiggle, and the liner lock resembles the Spyderco liner lock without any play. If you are out to first time buy a pocket knife, skip this. This is not for you. If you are out to first time buy a folding knife/razor and you also purchase the necessary sharpening and stropping instruments to keep this truly razor sharp, then this is perfect. You don't have to spend hundreds for a German Solingen razor. And you can if necessary, carry this as a personal defense knife of sorts. It doesn't have a point, so you won't be sticking anything. I also just noticed that the knife body spine is made of the G10 plastic of the scales. This is key as somewhat like the wedge in a true straight razor in that when the blade is in the closed position, you don't want the tip and edge damaged while closed. Many knives, even the most expensive, sometimes have flaws where the blade can be pushed in too far while in the pocket or bumped too far if dropped and the edge of the blade is damaged on frame pins or the body spine itself. Not in this case. It can only hit the G10 material if it somehow gets forced in too far. The only thing that I could see being a problem is the single screw holding the pocket clip. The screw end of the clip is recessed into the scale so that it will not move and the screw goes all the way into the metal frame, so it is sturdier than it appears. So, as a whole, for $70, it looks to be an all around good deal. And yes, I dry shaved my left cheek right out of the box as the picture shows. For that, people pay hundreds more.

Beautiful knife
Just received my Miki knife. Right out of the box I am VERY happy with it. Yes it is REAL Damascus Steel. Smooth operation. My ONLY problem I see with the knife is the pocket clip. For a knife this size, its pretty light. Only uses one screw holding it in place. I’m a pretty active guy. I can see the pocket clip getting caught on various things and getting bent out of shape. I’d also rather the clip being on the side of the folding mechanism. (I dont like carrying a pocket knife point up). Iv been carrying this knife and Iv Received so many compliments on it. Thinking about buying a couple more and giving out his gifts. Would love it if her they would make it another one, with just a slightly shorter blade. Be more useful for every day carry. * 6 months later. Still really like the knife. Only complaint about it is the pocket clip. MUCH too lightweight. Pocket clip twists/rotates. Has damaged the handle a little. This knife needs a stronger clip, screws that pass all the way through the handle scales and into metal, perhaps a horizontal or a 3/4 horizontal sheath.

Its pretty, its heavy.... not meant for EDC
Beautiful, mine came with a few small scratches on the exposed core... but thats fine i guess... it was expensive so i should have expected somehing flawless also one of the bolts on it i guess was overtightened and they nearly stripped it(notice this after finally looking at it.)

Awesome looking knife is more of a slicer than a stabber.
Cool knife but after taking delivery it seems more like a 40 or 50 dollar knife. It's a bit clunky to open but I may just need to develop a better technique for this style of folder. Also it's easy to see where a bit if length could be shaved off the handle making it more comfortable in the pocket. The blade arrived sharp and over-all the knife looks very cool.

Well made
Smooth opening knife, very sharp and feels great in the hand. Only dislike is the artificial finish comes off very easy would of been better to not put an artificial Damascus finish on it .

pretty
This is seriously a pretty impressive find. I don't pretend to be an expert on knives, but I'm familiar enough with the subject, and held enough examples that cost north of $500, to have a good sense of value. Mine was delivered the next day, and was in perfect condition. The blade sits perfectly centered, is absolutely straight, and came razor-sharp.

Seems nice
I buy a lot of folders. I really like this style. The blade build (not shape) is different and looks almost laminated. Feels good now, we'll see how it holds up.

Beautiful, but might be more art than practical.
Beautiful san mai blade. Excellent, smooth action. I get the impression that, at least, the spine is acid etched if not all the demascus. Clearly it is a higher hardness core sandwiched between softer sides. Because it's a razor, that exposes a lot of the core metal. Good for soft applications. Not a utility type knife. At the price, I don't want to risk chips so it's mostly for show.
