I got this for my UV-9G handheld. I was slightly skeptical and was hoping I could increase the range a little bit. My son operated the 9G and I began driving, I have a Midland MXT275 in my Jeep with the 6” antenna. Well to my surprise, I drove out to about ten miles and we were still getting great comms. This test was done in the central Colorado Rockies with plenty of pine trees and several large hills obstructing the view. I’m very pleased, going to order another for our other UV-9G.

Purchased this for my Baofeng 9+ and model 8 handhelds as the stock rubber ducks are worthless. Have it some local repeaters, but the true test will be when I take it out in the field. I've used it a dozen times, folding the antenna in 1/2 to secure. I am noticing an indentation forming on the outside of the loop. We will see if this continues to break in the housings. Hope not!

After folding and unfolding it maybe 4 or 5 times could tell it was causing serious wear in the antenna. I don't see it holding up long folding every time you're done using your radio. I would advise leaving it unfolded unless you absolutely need to fold it for some reason. Reception and transmission were good.

Does not fit UV-S9 Plus as described. Gets caught on the flashlight. Couldnt get any signal no matter for far down it screwed

Great antenna with good transmit and receive on both 70 cm and 2 m.

Good antenna for VHF SWR is high on UHF like the other brands. I would go with a diamond or signal stuff whip as far as the 18” this one goes.

This unit is the real one.. fakes are JUNK

This Antenna is great it's performance is 10x of my stock antenna i'm able to transmit farther and receive locations i couldn't in the past.I highly recommend this upgrade you can't go wrong!
