ITIL Lifecycle Suite, 2011 Edition (5 Volume Set) 2nd Edition

This is the source for all of the ITIL Framework. The topics are covered in detail. Since each volume is specific to a particular Lifecycle of the Framework (Service Stategy, Service Design, Service Transistion, Service Operations, Continous Service Improvement), A topic may appear in more than one volume, but only as related to that Lifecycle phase. This is great since the material is not just repeated, but restated in proper context. Overall, this set is a must if you are serious about ITIL implementation. In addition to the text, each volume provides some sample suggested forms associated to the particular Lifecycle - a huge plus if you are new to ITIL.

What can I say, it was what it claimed to be. I think a set of books costing $500+ is a bit ludicrous. However, it is the standard, and if you want to own it, you have to pay for it. Fortunately, I found it cheaper than that from an Amazon affiliate, but it was still crazy at $450. The books appear to be in good shape, so I cannot complain.While I cannot fault the supplier, I'm annoyed the books don't include a PDF or at least eBook edition. Anyway, the purchase pain is in my past and I'm happy to own it.

The books are revised versions of older material. I have not read the earlier material to compare but these are well written and well organized, easy to follow.The print quality is first rate on first rate gloss paper. That might be something to consider not using to bring the cost down ..maybe a Kindle version? The Kindle version would lose the page layouts that add to the readability so maybe not on the Kindle idea.

Books arrived from seller in great condition.Unfortunately, the books themselves did not provide as much detail as hoped for. I suppose for someone completely new to ITSM, there is plenty of detail. However, for more experienced people, it's not as useful. As well, I couldn't find practical examples for the CSI areas I was interested in, even though there are some examples throughout the books.

My company bought me these books as they were required when taking ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle course. They were / are exactly what was needed, they are easy to use and were delivered on time. They will be proudly displayed and used as I did achieve my expert certification.

There's no better way to prepare for ITIL exam than this and maybe a pocket guide, I mean this has it all! you can't ask for more because there is not more! everything is here! I had problems with this order, but finally got them from somewhere else!

Exactly what I need for the Intermediate exams. It contains a lot of information but the format is consistent throughout the books so once you read the first book, rest are similar.

Reference set. I don't see this as a cover-to-cover read. You don't need your own copy; if you design, run or evaluate ITIL processes, yu should have access to a set.

Für meine Zwecke die absolut perfekten Bücher.Umfassend: ja man benötigt nicht immer alle Informationen und manche Infos sind doppelt. Da dies allerdings das durchgängige Lesen ohne Blättern ermöglicht, ist das für mich völlig OK.Verständlich:auch für nicht native speaker und Kollegen mit wenig ITIL Know How nachvollziehbar. Die verschiedenen Grafiken erleichtern das Verständnis.Neben den gängigen Informationen zu den Prozessen, sind auch Sonderthemen wie z.B. die Unterschiede zwischen Application Management und Application Development aufgezeigt.Fazit: Nicht ganz günstig, aber für die intensive Arbeit an der Prozesslandschaft sehr hilfreich

Normally technical books are dry, boring and tedious to get through. The ITIL books are no exception, but do contain a wealth of knowledge, give a full view of the Service lifecycle and are the definitive authority. Whilst you may not use every component of the ITIL framework, there are gems in these books that can be applied today to; Improve your IT department service operation, Give a greater overview of the full project elements, A framework for service and product lifecycle, or developing service/product models.These books should be a part of every PMO & Service library and for the consultant they can only help to improve your delivery and open up other prospects.The library is not necessary if you are embarking on the ITIL Foundation course, but do come in handy as a reference for the Lifecycle and Capability modules and are a must have if you are either moving to Expert Certification or implementing an ITIL type framework in your organisation.For those who are Project/Program managers, these are essential in supporting product/service delivery and highlight others areas that should be considered when initiating projects and to give you a full understanding of product/service delivery. They will help you stand out from the rest of the delivery crowd.The way the books are written makes it difficult to work through, so I suggest you do the Foundation course first to get an understanding of the thinking behind ITIL.
