The HB vintage casual motorcycle denim jeans feature CE approved armour at the knees, 100% DuPont Kevlar panel double stitched in to key locations generously sculpted to the shape of the jean and stitched into a triple seam at the sides, comfortable mesh pockets for armour, proper heavy duty zip fly, longer Kevlar at the back and this is double stitched to prevent it riding up on impact, large aperture pockets, large strong belt loops and the Kevlar for peace of mind.

Not bad for the money
Color: These pants are not that lovely washed-and-faded blue shown in the picture. Though they do have the silly wrinkle stripes, they are otherwise new-jean-indigo in color. That ticks me off a bit.Fit: Men's pants vary widely from the nominal sizing. The HB size 34 is a bit roomier than middling. Mine measured about 35.25 inches. Length is a tad short for a 32 (actual measurement is 31.5 in); but I wear a 30 in street jeans and order the next inseam size up for my biking pants so they won't ride up past my boots when seated on the bike, so it's all good for me. Rise is a bit low, and legs are on the narrow side; but they do fit over my 17-inch engineer boots. On the whole, I like the way they fit my skinny bod: comfy but not too baggy. As others have pointed out, HB jeans are not made of a heavy-weight denim, like you'll get in a pair of Draggin' Jeans. That's no biggie, as denim has insignificant abrasion resistance anyway--even in the heaver weight. What is a bit disturbing, though, is that the Kevlar lining coverage is equivalent, the lining itself is thinner. (I beleive from reading in varous places around the net that this is the difference between knitted fabric--like Draggin'--and woven, lke HB. I'm no textile expert, but I get the impression that, though, knitted is more protective than woven it's not a night and day difference.)Construction of the HB jeans is light-weight too, with shallow pockets of a thin material. I'd say that for about half the price of a pair of Draggin Jeans, you are getting about half the quality. That doesn't necessarily mean half the protection, however. What makes the HB's more attractive is the armor in the knees (CE approved) and the padding in the hips. The knee armor pockets are cleverly adjustable for height, and hold the pads in place well. The hip padding, however, is just thin foam. I'm thinking of buying some D-30 hip armor (REvzilla carries some.) Draggn' Jeans, by comparison, don't have armor pockets--they use Velcro for the knee pads, and they don't make hip padding. And their armor costs extra. You will also notice that, while Kevlar-lined jeans usually have stitching running across the legs to tack down the Kevlar, these pants have none. As a result the knee areas of Kevlar are only attached at the vertical seams, and it is thus possible when putting them on to slide your leg in front of the Kevlar and armor pockets! I fixed this by using double-sided iron-on tape to tack the top of the lining to the pant leg. I did this for the hip armor pockets as well, which are also free to shift aboutBTW, I know whereof I speak. I went down in a slide at about 25 mph in a pair of Draggin' Jeans and the knee and hip of the denim were torn right down to the Kevlar. The Kevlar itself was unscathed, so there is genuine protection there; but you should know, you may still suffer some abrasion from the the Kevlar against your skin. I did.

Appears to be decent quality for the price
I picked these up on sale for under $20, figured I would give them a chance. Below is my initial impressions:Overall Look: Appears to look like it does in the pictureSizing: Appears to be 36x30 as advertised, fits decent without pads, would step up a few sizes if I intended to wear the pads.Pads: Knee Pads say CE on them, Hip pads are just foam piecesKevlar Lining: Description says DuPont Kevlar, Tag says DuPont Aramid, regardless, material is located only in 2 areas. The rear seat, and the front of the knees.Overall Feel: Pants are stretchy, I have never owned stretchy jeans so that's a bit odd to me. They also have that light liner material so it kinda feels like your wearing shorts underneath the jeans.Armour pockets: The hip ones appear adequate to hold pads in place. I am less than impressed with the knee pockets, the knee pads felt like fit in their funny and the one small velcro latch at the top will probably end up catching my foot while donning the pants. As another review suggested, I may have the knee pocket sewn shut as I dont intend on wearing the pads.

Once you get the correct size, very nice!
Not even close in fit. I wear a 36/30 and that's what I ordered. I couldn't get them around my hips. Measured them and they are 31 inches. How can you screw that up? And they fit like skinny jeans on my legs. I've returned them and will be getting a 40/30. If that works, I'll update my rating. Until then, I cannot recommend these.EDIT: I've now received the replacement set and they fit. I also received the knee and hip pads which I did not receive last time. I wear a 36/30 in pretty much any brand jeans but I had to buy a 40/30 to get these to fit. At that size, the jeans fit as well as my favorite pair of Levis. Even with the knee and hip pads installed, the jeans fit perfectly. I've obviously not crash tested them, but they fit well and ate comfortable while riding. I'll update this review as I get more miles on them. I won't rule out a 5 star rating, but I'm not expecting to overcome the initial fitment issues. In the end, I'm happy with this size now.
