MEGREZ Chinese Calligraphy Drawing Felt Mat is very thick. Nothing goes thru it. Great for watercolor, sumi painting. I used this mat with watercolor paper, rice paper and even newsprint. Works great. Recommend!!

It is very thick and good quality product

This mat is a must item for anyone who writes/draws on thin sumi papers. The ink will smear through paper, but this mat stops the ink going onto any other objects. It also saves the other fresh paper from being stained like magic. Now I am saving lots of paper towels and old newpapers, and time after getting this mat. I recommend this product.

Came folded, the creases were a little bothersome since I'm using this on a desk table. Spray with a light mist of water and roll and it helped get the crease out. When your not using it, roll it and rubber band it. The felt was a little larger in size than described, no complaints, and it was a good thickness.

This felt is very thin. Less than 1/8 inch thick. My calipers measured it at only 2 mm thick! Traditional calligraphy felt is at least 1/4 inch thick or thicker and is usually a light beige color. This is just a lightweight, thin, grey felt fabric. Carpet felt pads are thicker than this. This will not function as adequate padding for your calligraphy/paint strokes; nor, will it stop an ink spill from penetrating to your work surface.

Based on a recommendation posted on Amazon I used it as additional padding for the "Bits & Pieces" puzzle table top. Was able to keep all pieces in place when the easel was carried and stored.

This is a great mat for protecting your furniture and it also gives a good area to work on your art.

its good , but box was damaged

Being a beginner, it is good for me to pracitice Chinese calligraphy and painting.
