At first I had such a challenging time trying to get this to lock in place for my shower curtain. The instructions state to expand the rod 1" wider than the space, put it up and then lock it. That did not work! I ended up getting on a step stool, placing it where it needed to be and then pulled it wider as I turned to lock it. The first one took me a fairly long time and then to my dismay, the entire thing fell down (shower curtain and all!), about 2 hrs later. However, I tried again and got the hang of it (pun intended) and then became an expert when I hung the second one in no time flat!

The 26"-42" should actually read 29"-42". It would not fit in my 28" door. I was able to take one end off and cut 4" off with a reciprocating saw, put the cap back on. Perfect! When first setting the tension it does take quite a few turns before it finally locks into place. Just keep turning, just keep turning! :). It looks beautiful and seems sturdy. 4 stars just because it was longer than described. Love it!

I went on line and spent extra to order this rod because it was prime and my son needed a rod right away. This is not the rod I wanted, and was more than the one I liked. It was supposed to be delivered by Friday and he didn't get the rod until the next week. I don't remember now if it was Monday or Tuesday but I was very upset with that. I never would have spent more than $10 to buy this if I knew it wasn't going to be delivered on time.

This rod is perfect! It was easy to install, sturdy enough to make me confident it will stay in place, and it looks good too! I'm impressed!

Looks nice but I wish I had thoroughly read others' reviews before purchasing. Cannot unscrew rod to lengthen! Is it possible that once the length is set you can't change it? I've watched the manufacturer video, used rubber grippers to unscrew and then hit it with PB Blaster but still can't loosen up to re-adjust the length. I hate to toss it because it is a good looking product but it really does me no good when the slightest bit of weight sends it crashing to the floor.

its a good rod with one BIG BUT! It is labeled to fit 26"- 42" It is a minimum 30" with the one 1 inch compression. Had to cut 3" off to make it fit a 27" opening. The end that doesn't rotate comes off as it is only attached with a gob of hot glue. That is the end to cut off. Re glue with same after cut is made. It is steel so need to use a metal cut saw.

I had bought a nice tension rod from Target and it fell down several times. I got fed up with it and finally ordered this one. I, a 100 lb woman installed this one by myself (without any cursing!) and It's never fallen down. I love that it came in bronze too so it matches the rest of our hardware. InterDesign has designed a FANTASTIC product.

I did a complete bathroom renovation with a mixed metals look and this shower rod absolutely makes this bathroom look ravishing. It looks so sophisticated and compliments the decor so nicely. You can choose to screw in the rod but I didn't want to ruin my new renovation so I used the other option (will sustain itself as you tighten it). I almost took away a star because it was a bit difficult to put up but it is a great product.

Holds our shower curtain up a treat!!! Sticks well to tiles and hasn’t budged. Easy to install.

Tension spring broke first time we put it up. Would not hold to fit tight on the wall. The ends fell off and the whole insides fell out and was unable to get them back in. Its now in the garbage not worth sending back because of the postage. This is a piece of junk.
