Planned a treasure hunt for my nephew's 6th birthday party and I used a treasure chest I bought here on Amazon to hold these fake gold plated zinc coins, as well as some National Geographic real fossils, gemstones, geodes, quartz crystals, among other interesting natural items that I thought he'd be interested in. He's big into dinosaurs, fossils, discovery, exploration, and digging things up!I bought these coins because they are real metal, they make that klink sound when you handle them and they set off a metal detector. They come in a felt bag that fits in the palm of your hand. As the product name says, there's only 35 coins in the bag, these are true to size so they are about the size of nickels, you're gonna wanna buy several bags if you want a lot of them to fill up a chest or similar box.I hid the treasure chest and created a treasure map using clipart images that looked like real landmarks around his house that I knew he'd be able to identify, I put it all together with PowerPoint, and printed it on brown card stationary to give it that aged look. I placed the treasure chest keys, map, and one gold coin inside a small puzzle box that I also bought here on Amazon, and gave it to him wrapped up as a present, just to boost the excitement and wonder.I didn't want to get too carried away with hiding the chest because it was 90-something degrees and humid the day of his birthday party, so I left it above ground, behind a tree. He was very excited to go on an adventure to find treasure!I secretly wish we had these real metal coins when I was a kid, we had the crappy plastic ones where the paint would wear off with use. These look real, feel real, especially to a kid. If you have kids with interests similar my nephew's, I highly recommend these coins for imaginative play.Maybe even use them as a way to learn about spending and saving money, instead of the risk of using (and losing) the real thing. Pay them for chores, or reward them for good behavior, have them pay you for perks or treats when they want something. If they loose these fake coins, oh well, they're worth less than the real thing.

These coins were initially purchased for use with a "treasure chest" birthday cake for a 9 year old. However, the coins quickly became a favorite toy. The coins are a nice gold color, feel substantial and have interesting engravings. The engravings look like "kairos". Highly recommend.

I can't complain they are gorgeous. I do wish I had paid a bit more attention to the sizing, they are roughly the size of a nickel. Bit of a chocking hazard, but will work for my purposes. If I had been paying attention I had been looking for something in the 50 cent to silver dollar size range.

Fun inexpensive luckyChallenge coins…

A little smaller than I thought, but not a problem. They are going to work great for trinket trading at the Ren Faire. They have some weight to them which is great. They aren't "cheap" like a lot of other items. Great price for what you get. Would recommend.

Used for a Pirates treasure hunt and grandkids loved the coins along with a few other goodies.

They are about the size of a nickel but thin as a dime. These would be great for themed party or decor. I used mine in a small chest I was given in a chest for pirate decor. I wish I had ordered more.

They are cute but size is dissapointing, very tiny.
