Gas Ring Reducer 5-Inch Hob Reducer,Cast Iron,Black

Nice solid gas reducer. Works very well with my coffee peculator. It is robust cast iron, matches my gas top, looks good and is made to last. I am happy with my purchase.

Very useful and good quality

Nice weight, sturdy and perfect for my pot. Others I have tried are unfortunately thin pieces of metal bent into shape, this is a cast iron solid piece of metal.

Great to reduce the size of the gas ring. We have a saucepan that has tipped over a couple of times previously as it is too small for the ring. This solves the problem.

This cast iron ring reducer was intended to replace an old aluminium ring reducer but for reasons which I will outline, had to be returned.The overall cast of the reducer was very poor, with cracks showing.The finish of the reducer was quite ludicrously uneven and made items that would have been used on it, unevenly balanced and an obvious danger in the kitchen.The old aluminium ring this was intended to replace is much safer, better manufactured and is offers far better weight distribution across its surface, offering a greater degree of safety when in use.I would avoid purchasing this ring reducer.

I really liked it however I noticed that when the pan gets hot and is slightly wet at the bottom from just cleaning it, the top coat of the ring splits and pops up. It first scared me as it makes that popcorn sound but i now make sure the bottom of the pans are dry. Not sure if a fault or i just didn’t know this.

I paid a little more, when choosing this item, as you only get what you pay for. It feels heavier and sturdy, so good quality.I was a little concerned at the slight scent of chemicals being released the first time I used it, as I am very sensitive to chemicals. However, thankfully upon subsequent uses, I could not detect any chemical scent being released anymore as it heated up in the gas flame. A good buy.

It's a sturdy, functional item that I'm sure will do the job. But for almost a tenner, I would've expected that it would arrive without bits of the black coating already missing. Disappointing really, as it looks to be a great product otherwise.
