Great watch! Better than expected!!
I always liked the classical look in a watch and this satisfies that in me. One thing to say up front for those contemplating one of their own. This is an "automatic" mechanical watch movement. It does not run on batteries, it has to be wound. This winds two ways. One; movement of the arm winds it as you go about your business. Two, you can wind it at the knob just like an old fashioned watch. I am retired and disabled so I don't always move around enough to rely on that alone to keep it wound. What I do is start the day by winding it with the knob first thing then let movement keep it wound. Only a few times has this wound down on me. One good feature is over-wind protection. Used to be when winding a watch, you had to be careful not to "over-wind" them. That is, if you wound it to hard against the stop, you could break the spring attachment. I don't know how this works in here but it never gets to a 'stop.' So, no worries on that count. All the feature on the face are fully functional. The date hand counts the number of the days and the day counter ticks on the Mon., Tues., Wed., &tc. The moon phase also turns around through it's course and counts off a 24 day lunar month. Only... truth to tell, I haven't quite figured out how to set it. The instructions are not all that clear and are pretty generic, not necessarily watch specific. Probably just an am/pm indicator as some have mentioned.Another good feature are the "hidden" setting buttons for days and date settings. I had a watch with those raised buttons. They were forever getting bumped as I bent my wrist and I gave up on trying to get those features set. No such problems with this. There is one particular feature I have not seen before and really like! There's a catch and release latch on the watch band! Generally, a leather type watch band connects through use of a buckle, sometimes quite difficult to manage. This one folds up and latches just like many metallic bands do! A simple squeeze of the tabs on each side of the band lets it pop open. It works well holding the band securely. I have not had it open accidentally even once and yet it opens very easily by intent. My pictures show this mechanism pretty well I think. The band also looks good and is comfortable.I am really quite pleased with this watch but only gave it 4 stars. The 5 was not checked for a few minor things really. One; the watch itself is quite large, I would say a little over-sized. I showed a photo of it on my wrist. For reference, my wrist is too large for many metallic type bands. I have to wear an 'extra-large' size band. Also, a down check for the instructions, the fault already described above. The final gripe; the watch does not have a second hand. I really like and often use those. So it's omission is a down check for me.There you have it. Sorry for the length but, I wanted to be thorough. I have had this watch for some months now and it has proven reliable, it keeps good time and I am over all well pleased with it and would recommend it to anybody who thinks they would want one.

Watch dies not keep time-it stops running periodically
This watch looks GREAT, but the beauty turned out to be a shallow implication of it’s true quality. It simply will not keep time. It worked fine for short periods, then it stopped. The instructions suggested wearing the watch for 8 hours, but apparently 12 hours wasn’t even enough. I think I just got a dud.

Good looking BUT
I got my watch real quick, I believe it was 3 days. The packaging was done well an everything looked fine. I wound it manually first and set the date to the 31th of the month. Everything was fine until I woke up the 32nd of the month,( the next morning) I did a double take an it did say 32 so I figured trouble was coming. Also I noticed the watch had stopped some time during the morning of the 32nd. After looking at the instructions I figured out, they had forgot to include the watch they sold me in them. After fooling around with it I figured out that pushing a button on the watch the 3 would rotate if the stem was pulled half way out. I finally got the date set, wound the watch again manually and put it on. About 3:00pm it had stopped again. To make a long story short it stopped 4 times, I then wound it about 50 turns and put it back on. After that it's worked real well. As for keeping time, I don't think it's lost a second in the short time I'd had it. The date seems to be working alright, but I don't think it will Change at the end of the month. It will probably go to 32nd again. As for the selfwinding feature, it does not work, I wind the watch 30 times a day to keep it running. The self winding mechanism seems to be working but it just doesn't wind the watch, and I use my hands all day long doing woodwork. The watch looks very good and I guess as long as I wind it and don't care about the date or instructions it will run. I would send it back but I just don't feel like fooling with it. I gave it three stars because I got it and it's keeping time. As for would I buy another one definitely not.

good looking watch with a few quirks, but I don't think this is stainless steel as advertised.
First of all, let me say, this is a very good looking watch. I really like it from a looks standpoint. I have now owned and used this watch for about 6 months. One of the first things I noticed, is this watch will randomly lose or gain a minute or two over a day or two. the first day I wore it, I had to reset the time twice. it was loosing minutes. The second day, it gained a minute. Six months later, I only have to adjust it once a week or so. two days ago, it was two minutes behind, and today it was one minute. I usually refer to an atomic clock for the time adjustment. The calendar is unusual, in that there are a double zero (00) date, and also 38 days on the calendar, rather than the usual 31. The retailer references stainless steel in the title of the watch on Amazon. I believe this to only refer to the watch band. The watch case is already showing pitting and corrosion on the backside. The bottom cover, which has a window, may also be stainless steel, as it shows no signs of pitting. the buttons on the side, which control the calendar and month functions have begun to loose their gold look plating. I work in an office environment, and I wear this watch every day, so I wouldn't expect this level of deterioration within only 6 months.

Beautiful Watch
I'm not sure I should be reviewing this watch at this time as I haven't owned it long enough to really judge. It keeps very accurate time if I keep it wound or wear it all the time. I don't normally wear my watches on the weekends working around the house so it was off time this morning when I went to put it on. Not hard to set once I figured everything out. The watch needs to come with better instructions on setting and how to work the band clasp. But once I figured it all out I love the leather band with a clasp. I have never had one like this, but it is so easy off and on. Need more time to see how the watch holds up. Other than that very pleased!
