30 Astra Superior Stainless Double Edge Razor Blades

This blades are so gentle with your face. I was using DERBYs that I bought based in popular reviews in this site. However I found my face cut as hell or as scar face. I decided to test FEATHERS and the ASTRAS. I did not have expectations for the ASTRAS and thought I would finish settling for the higher priced FEATHERS (assuming higher priced should be better product): NO WAY!. FEATHERS almost cut my face in half!. I am exagerating. But it cause me lots of cuts as DERBYs did. However ASTRAS were so gentle. These are my blades, period. Now I am just to order 200 blades, just in case, in one of those insane moments, they decide to stop producing them.

Before I started DE shaving I poked around on the web and read some of the DE shaving forums and found the most useful advice was, "experiment". So that's what I did. I tried about a dozen different blades and I don't mean one shave per blade, I mean about 10 shaves with about 5 of each different mfg. and "these are the ones for me". I get a consistent smooth shave and NO "burn" when I shave a few days in a row. I could not say the same for any of the others. Which doesn't mean these will work for you, maybe they will maybe they won't. Not all faces are the same. Experiment!!!

Not as sharp or durable as Personas I use

Great training blade, not too sharp but not too dull. Also recommended for training are the Dorcos. They dull quickly, but are very forgiving for the beginner wet shaver. Once you build up your chops, you can switch to Feathers for that super close shave (at the expense of possibly destroying your face if you slip up at all).The great thing about the Feather blades is that they take a lot less work to get a great shave and if you use them right, you'll have a lot less irritation. Still, start with something like the Astras or Dorcos.

These blades work for me. These are my blade of choice now. I used the Derby's and they were not for this bald head! Last for more than 6 shaves, head and face. I got what I paid for and have no complaints. Have not tried the Feathers yet...working my way there. But for the price these work great.

I started out with feathers, but found them way too sharp for my skin. I bought these and while obviously not as sharp, they're perfect for my sensitive skin. Comfortable and smooth, and virtually no irritation and cuts. Very pleased! Will be buying these blades for a long time.

The Astra Blades appear to be of sufficient quality. The trouble with these blades is that they are just not very sharp. With a medium to medium-thick beard I can only use a blade once before it becomes dull and I have to change it out. I used Feather's before and have went back. These blades would probably be good for a beginning or young shaver because they will not damage your face much if you make any false moves. Worth checking out if you are a new wet shaver.
