The price of this item is excellent for what you get. It feels substantial, well made and packed. Have used it several times now and I find it works perfectly. Makes shooting portrait, a pleasure. Well worth the money.

Again: excellent piece of kit, no complaints
A few days ago I wrote the product recension for the AYEX Battery Grip MOdel Nikon D750. I now have taken delivery of the Ayex for the Nikon D800/800e. This time I borrowed the original NIkon Batterie Grip for the D800 of my friend and can therefore make a direct comparison. Again, I can only repeat what I wrote about my first AYEX buy D740: perfect 95% identical Nikon only has the layer of magnesium inside the Battery compartement, but otherwise it seems to be absoulutely the same! Materials look and feel the same, the finish is 1:1, all buttons and functions work perfectly and they don't feel any different than the original. This all again leads to me thinking that there is one big manufacturer of these Grips in China manufacturing a basic model to various quality levels as customer demand. Probably Nikon buys the top range and gets the magnesium inlay inserted after that. To assume that these Grips are cheaper copies is probably wrong, since it would cost to much to copy ab original to that level on a product you do not sell in same numbers as other units do. It is much more probable that they produce one unit and then adapt it to the needs of every customer - makes a lot of sense since it allows for an higher average quality than the other way around. And that Nikon does not manufacture all the accessories they sell themselves can be seen in many other products.Again: the Grip for the Nikon D800/800e is the same as the Ayex Grip for the Nikon D750 very, very close to Original Standards (virtually identical) and I can recommend them both absolutely! Pricewise the original is over 400 Euros and this AYEX is around 60 Euros. No brainer!
