Ear Shields Ear Protectors Slip-on Pair

After getting skin cancer in my left ear from driving with the sun coming through the driver's door window for years, I had the cancerous area removed surgically. My barber used one of these ear guards when cutting my hair, while my ear healed from the surgery. I bought these to slip over my left ear while driving or mowing the grass. Ultraviolet rays coming though the door glass caused my cancer and these ear protectors work better than sun block because NO harmful sunlight can get through them.You simply hang the ear protector over your ear. They fit loosely, so some care must be used when turning or shaking you head, but that is a minor inconvenience when compared to cancer. I recommend a pair of these ear protectors to everyone. Even though you may not have had ear cancer, these will help prevent it in the future.

This product is so cheaply made. They are hard and does not stay on my ears.

I have been using a curling iron daily for the past 20 years. A few months ago, I had an unfortunate and traumatic experience where my trusty curling iron had gotten fried (presumably resulting from a few trips overseas without a converter) and cinged a chunk of my hair straight off. Needless to say, it's going to be awhile until I am brave enough to use another curling iron, so I switched to hot rollers until then. To make matters worse, when I first put in the rollers, they were burning the crap out of my ear. This was also traumatic, so I came off to Amazon to see what could be done about that. I found these little guys and they are the perfect solution. They cap right over your ear and... no more burns! Exactly what I was looking for. Very happy with this purchase.

They work as expected. When I used to get my hair done professionally the salon I went to used to use these. They would place them over my ears, have me hold them in place, and tie the net (or place the band of a bonnet) over them to hold them in place. They would stay put and protect my ears from the heat of the dryer. These do the same. No problems.

I bought them to protect my ears while using curling irons. But they don't stay on the ears! They keep falling off. Not helpful....

These work great in protecting your ears from heat while under the dryer. The fit is a little loose but they did stay on my ears. I guess it depends on the size of your ears. My ears are average size. The other issue is that both shields are shaped exactly the same, so they probably sent 2 shields for the same ear instead of one for the right ear and one for the left ear.

I had something similar to this many years ago. I lost one then lost the other. Never saw them anywhere else until I stumbled across them on Amazon (doesn't Amazon have just about EVERYTHING). They work perfectly. And the timing was perfect. When the postman arrived with the package I had just finished washing my hair! My ears stayed nice and cool!I took off one star because the edges were a little sharp. I took a little piece of sandpaper to smooth the edges and now they are fine.

These do just want I wanted them to. I use one of those (weird looking) bonnet attachments for my hand held dryer, These covers fit snugly over my ears, and are supported by the bonnet drawstring, so I don't have the slippage problems others have described. Now I can use high settings for both heat and fan, without risk of burning my ears, allowing for a MUCH faster drying time. I also find these covers perfectly comfortable. The hard plastic works just fine.
