Drastically Reduces Perfromance
I think that this is a good idea, that just needs some better execution. It is not uncommon for there to be a performance hit when using any VPN, but this took my speed from 950mbps to 50mbps. That is just unacceptable. I have high hopes for this company and if they are able to fix the performance issue, I'll be the first in line to purchase their product. Unfortunately, I had to return this one.

SYFER SAVED THE DAY on my WIFI NETWORK!!!!!!!
My Situation:1). I have a neighbor that was doing excessive ping attacks on my network (Denial of Service Attacks)2.) I did a scan on my Mac (pressing the option button,, hovering over the network icon,, and single left clickingthe mouse) ,, Did the SCAN and my apple said that there were "CONFLICTING COUNTRY CODES". Evidently myMac will connect to any strong signal and adopt that country code if my neighbor is emitting that code from hisrouter. Following that,, since he is doing a DOS (a ping attack) on my network,, when I would lose my connectionand I would try to log back into my network,, just as APPLE had said because of the "CONFLICTING COUNTRY CODES) I would not be able to log back in. I would get the message that the password was wrong and the password was definitely not wrong. BTW... their router is from another country or has the ability to switch country codes within the router. My Solution:Ok.... So I needed a router that could ward of "PING ATTACKS". AKA DOS (Denial of Service Attacks). I purchasedan inexpensive router from Amazon by TP-LINK. AC 1750. Even though it was a little over $60,, it came fully armed with the ability to ignore Ping requests,, and so the constant temporary blinking off of my network stopped,, the TV stopped getting interrupted,, the printer started working properly and so half of my solution was solved. (The SYFER IS next,, don't worry).Syfer to the Rescue!I have nest cameras and they are called IOT (internet of things) devices and are really easy for clever hackers to hack. I also was concerned that whoever was breaking into my network might still be able to get in because stopping the Ping attacks was important but I wanted whoever was making changes in my network to not be able to maneuver around freely,, in other words I wanted everything encrypted or confusing,, so that I could stop himin his tracks.I received the Syfer,, My internet Service Provider is CenturyLink and I have their CenturyLink Modem/Routercombination and I was a little concerned because I had heard that I needed to put the Syfer in-between the Modem (a separate unit) and the Router (a separate unit) which is true,, however I did not use that configuration.I used my MODEM/ROUTER Combo-----------then the Syfer in the Middle-------then the second router set up as an ACCESS POINTHere's the beautiful part..........My IOT devices are protected now (how do I know? the idiots are not turning on my cameras and turning them off any more!! I also did a scan on my network because I heard that the the DNS was encrypted so intruders couldn't follow and in addition to that,, all the ip addresses were different!! Example: instead of a device being 192.168.0.22,, it would now be 10.10.17.34 even more confusing for the trolls!!***The only weak link that I found was that the Syfer is in-between my MODEM/ROUTER and the Second ROUTERand so only the second router is protected by the Syfer as well as everything connected to the Second Routerwhich includes everything in my LAN network. I worked around that by setting the ISP provider MODEM/ROUTERwith a tough Password for the router,, disabled the guest network and basically went through the MODEM/ROUTER to make it stronger.I am glad to say that there is peace in the valley. The hacker is still out there. When I change channels,, he changes channels automatically (this is because he has cloned my router (he spoofs my Mac address) which means everything that my router spits out goes to him as well). There is no remedy for this however,, everything is now encrypted making it useless information for him as well as he cannot penetrate my network. His ping attacks go nowhere and all my IOT devices are protected with the SYFER. I have not had a single glitch,, loss of connection,, or anything that resembles hacking since I installed both the TP-Link AC 1750 Router and the SYFER. I am really relieved to have solved this problem.*********Update on the neighbor that has the modem/router with the "WRONG COUNTRY CODE". I have an additional unused modem/router that of course is set up correctly by default to emit the "U.S. COUNTRY CODE"which is the proper country code that everybody should be using. I have set it up closer to my neighbors and because I have a very strong signal,, any of my neighbors logging on will pick up the CORRECT U.S. Country Codeinstead of my neighbor that has his Router set up to the Wrong Country Code,, and this prevents other neighborsincluding myself from not being able to re-log back into our networks. Our laptops will search for the first Country Code with a strong signal and will adopt that country. If you have an apple computer you can do a scan for conflicting country codes by pressing the "option key" and hovering your mouse over the "network" icon and then "left clicking". you can then select "open wireless diagnostics" and do a scan. it takes a while so be patientbut its worth it. It will even tell you who has their router setup incorrectly so you will know who the offending neighbor is. you cannot stop their bad behavior but you can setup a wifi router with a strong signal with the"correct country code U.S." and you will help yourself and your neighbors. If your signal is strong and your network is up and running prior to the offending neighbor..... you and your neighbors will adopt the U.S. country code and you will have peace in the valley until the offending neighbor (wrong country code) goes online before yours and everyone adopts the wrong codes. once that happens,, you will get errors that you put the wrong passcode in when trying to connect to your own network.I hope it helps you as well. Good luck.

Save your money
We are a data scientist and software developer both working from home during the pandemic. Also have two children who have been doing their school work from home. Throw in online video, social media, and video games and you can understand why we pay for a gigabyte internet connection.THE SYFER DEVICE EFFECTIVELY CUT OUR INTERNET SPEED TO JUST OVER 100MB/sec.I tried to work with Syfer tech support. At first they seemed very helpful. They tweeked this or that on their end. They had me reconfigure my router. They sent some custom firmware fix to the Syfer device. Nothing helped. In the end I was told that the nature of the device and service limits the bandwidth of my internet connection. If I want a faster connection then I would have to disable some security features of the Syfer device. What's the point of having a security device where you have to disable its features in order to have a usable internet connection. After a while tech support completly stopped responding to my emails and tech support requests.I purchased a Walla Gold and love it. It is highly customizable. Throughput exceeds my connection speed. And the work that we do from home... And our children... And connected devices.... Are about as safe as we can make them. The Syfer device has been sitting in a drawer ever since the company stopped responding and I realized it was never going to be a reasonably adequate solution. A complete waste of money.
