Good quality product
Excellence quality product. Installed it on condominium staircases. They have a lot of foot traffic and are exposed to the sun. Have held up well and stay in. place.

Super high quality
I applied this to our wooden staircase steps for my elderly father in law. The original has been in place for three years now with no sign of loosening or peeling. I just did another staircase. Applies instantly and seems to last forever!

I did a dance on the steps
I got this to apply to the indoor steps leading to the basement of my grandparent's house. Each step is only about 8-10" deep and they are painted, so when you have wet shoes it becomes a hazard to go up and down the steps.I cut a single strip to go near the edge of every step, about 1/4" back from the edges depending on the shape of the steps... you know how wooden steps wear with age, and had cracks and chips... So I had to make sure I applied the strips where they will stick the best.Feels close to 1/16" thick or less after applied, and has a gritty sandpaper texture... my fingertips were looking a tad rough after putting down a dozen strips. There's one small issue I should point out, if you're putting these down for older people, make sure you coach them on how to navigate over the strips... yes, it may seem ridiculous, but it changes a completely smooth flat surface to one that's irregular and partially rough. My grandfather's first attempt to go down the stairs made me more aware of this.... Here's why:He's so old now, his feet often drag on the floor as he shuffles along. He likes to wear a style of dress shoes with a squared heel edge that can get snagged on the smallest of bumps or ridges. Instead of sliding his foot from one step down to the next off of a smooth slick step, now he needs to actually step down by picking his feet up enough to not get snagged on the strips.Aside from having to retrain senior citizens on the dangers of shuffling down modified steps, it made it much easier for me to go up and down them. I've never felt safe in my entire life on those steps, always holding on for dear life as I traversed them.NOW I CAN DO A DANCE UP AND DOWN THE STEPS! Once I stuck them on, they really stuck to the steps. I really did dance up and down them to show my family how reliable this stuff is.I just ordered another roll to treat another set of slick indoor steps!

Improve safety on your wooden stairs without spending a lot of money
If you use polished wooden stairs whilst on your socks, there is a great danger of slipping on the edge and making a nasty fall.I fell twice and broke a few toes and was looking for a solutionThis product allows you fit a narrow non-slip strip on each step that look good and stops you from sliding offIt looks great and is easy to maintain. It doesn't cost a lot and installs in a few hoursI recommend buying the Marshalltown premier line E54D 2-inch flat solid rubber roller to install the tape professionally

Added winter safety usage to wooden deck steps
Promised to review a second year attempt in applying a lasting outdoor step tread to my wooden deck stairway steps.Knowing 3M products well, I bought this 4" tread roll version, and cut my own tread lengths (24"). No surprise in durability, but rather than trusting the material's own adhesive alone, I relied on the 3M advise for the product, and additionally used the 3M Safety Walk Edge Sealing compound 902 after applying the strips. I admit it is a pain to squeeze out a uniform line of sealant for the 56" of a 4 sided piece, but this spring I have not noticed any curling edges of tread because of moisture or rain getting under edges. I am expecting years of usage.

Great grip solution, lasts about two years
I use these strips on stained wooden stairs up to my front door (4" thick, 12" wide) that often get frosty during the winter. These strips adhere well and usually will stick to the stairs through two Seattle-area winters before starting to peel up. They keep their grip surface well over time, as well.Install takes just a few minutes to cut the strips to the right length and round off the corners (which helps prevent peeling over time).
