Cleans woolens gently & safely
Good for handwashing newly-handmade wool socks.Gentle on wool & wool blend fabrics, hasn't irritated my hands & I have lots of allergies to detergents, and rinses out of the fabric well.More than enough for my purposes - I don't make lots of wool items, but a little bit is all you need. The first time I used this was on black & gray socks I knit for a friend who also has sensitive skin; the sock colors stayed true and they didn't irritate her skin, either.Since then, I've used it on many different colored items & have had no problems.

Excellent for hand knit items
I use this for all my hand knit items. Nice soft fragrance and leaves the knitting super soft.

Favorite natural fiber shampoo. Is gentle on fiber, but has powerful cleaning performance. Rinse enough to remove dirty water, but don’t worry about residual suds. Best natural fiber cleaner on the market

Excellent gentle but effective soap for hand washables
For years now, this is my ‘go to’ soap on all my fine washables, no matter the type of material. It’s very gentle and really cleans my sweaters well. I’m surprised sometimes how much ‘dirt’ is removed. Leaves clothes stalling fresh and clean, with scant /no fragrance.

Let me settle the debate on scent
I have a fine-tuned nose and the lavender scent IS very strong if you are the type of person (like me) who has cut any artificial fragrances or strong smells out of their home. Re: no perfume, air fresheners, fake scents in soap, detergent, etc etc. the only scents I use in products are essential oil based, which are usually pretty mild/not long lasting. If you're like me and don't use chemically-based scented products, the smell of this on your clothes may feel like a perfumey assault to the senses. I cannot imagine wearing a sweater that was washed in this. It would be way too much. I have a hard time believing the smell is ONLY lavender essential oil as they claim because it just smells well, different and more intense than lavender essential oil. And trust me, I use a lot of that stuff. I am using this cleaner for wool diaper covers and at first the smell is too much for me...I really hate that after putting a cover on my babe, my hands smell like this lavender perfume smell for a long time. And like I said, not like the fresh, simple natural lavender smell either. BUT after a week of use of the wool covers, the smell fades and I feel somewhat grateful that the wools don't stink and still smell lightly pleasant. So I do think it might masks the urine smell a bit more than unscented would...but I have only used this one so don't have a lot to compare to. My next bottle I'll probably get unscented to try it out...and maybe add my own scent. If anybody gets any info on if there truly is an additional scent added in here, I'd love to know.Update: after months of use, the smell (surprise) really doesn't bother me anymore...Not sure if I've grown accustomed to it or it's because I find I am able to use less soap than I was initially. Still liking this product, and happy that a little goes a long way with this bottle.

Amazing wool wash!
TL;DR -- it got these pants clean just by soaking them! Great product & I definitely recommend it.I've gotten a lot of wool clothing over the past year and a half. Eucalan does an excellent job cleaning it, and keeping it soft and odor-resistant. It's easy to use-- add 1 teaspoon per gallon of lukewarm water (I usually use 1 tablespoon in a 3-gallon bucket). Gently squeeze the water through clothing, soak for 15+ minutes (I do half an hour), squeeze out the excess & lay clothes on a drying rack. Happily my washing machine has a "drain & spin" setting, so I use that instead of squeezing out the water by hand. The Eucalan is most effective if you DON'T rinse it out.I slopped a bunch of sludge-water on my pants while cleaning a plaster trap (see photo) but was confident that Eucalan could clean them. I didn't get around to washing them until a day later, but I still didn't bother pre-washing or rinsing out the stain first. I just used twice as much Eucalan, since it says to use more for heavily soiled items, and followed the directions above. The pants came out perfectly clean, just a few little specks left in the stitching which were only noticeable since I was looking closely.Leaves a pleasant, but faint, lavender scent.
