Assembled wrong from factory but fixable.
Assembled wrong at the factory. Had to reasemble. Mine came with the left pedal lower than the right. I'm using mine on an alesis Nitro electronic kit. The left pedal was tapping the clamp making noise. If your having the same problem here is how I fixed mine.First loosen the two square bolts on middle shaft that connect the slave or left pedal to the main or right pedal. Slide the shaft out and turn it foward one space and reinsert and tighten bolts.Next loosen shaft where its connected to the main pedal so that all you have is the main pedal to work with. You will have to reposition the left beater back one space on the axle.To do this remove the upper left spring tensioner assembly. Loosen the axle screw on beater, and screw on top of black frame on the left side. You should be able to slide the axle to the left enought to reposition the beater back one position. Slide the axle back in and make sure the seated ring, bearing and axle are snug with very little play and retighten. Then retighten beater.Next loosen the top sqrews on the spring tensioners. This will allow you to align both beaters. After that the pedals were identical. I measured them. Before this the left pedal was 3/4" lower. All n all its a solid platform and great for beginners however if your not tech savy you might want to pay a few more bucks and get namebrand or take your chance. Giving 4 stars for quality.

A high-quality budget alternative
I recently bought a new drumset (a Roland TD-15K). Since it didn't come with a bass drum pedal and I wanted to keep the one I had on my other set, I was in the market for a new pedal and figured I might as well invest a little extra to get a double bass up front. This GP is one of the cheaper options. There are one or two cheaper than it that are super-sketchy, and there are a few of the lower-end options from well-known brands (PDP, Gibraltar, Mapex) that run about $20 more than this. You're paying for the brand name; don't do it.I had to adjust up the tension quite a bit on the springs to get it as responsive as I wanted; in particular, the left pedal was loose, making it uneven by default. Another reviewer complained about this - I don't know why he didn't just change it.The left pedal was a bit squeaky out of the box, too, but a little WD-40 cleared it up and I haven't had a problem in months of playing an average of 10 hours a week.In addition to the standard dual-pedal setup, you also get pieces to have two separate single pedals (for two bass drums or whatever). This is nice, but was a little confusing when I first unboxed everything. There are no assembly instructions, so I made some and posted them on ifixit.com. :)Oh, and if you have an e-kit, use the hard plastic sides of the beaters, not the felt; the felt will tear up the cloth. All in all a solid part of my kit, for a good price.

Love it
For the price, I really like this pedal. Apparently, Hendershot's ("POS") one star review is simply misleading. I've been playing drums for 32 years and this pedal is just as good as any other piece of equipment I have ever used in it's price range. It can be easily adjusted to most any desired specification and comfortability level. The only problem I have is that it is indeed somewhat mechanically loud, (hence, the 4 stars) but not enough to be distracting unless you are using it on a vertical practice pad. However, I'm impressed that this pedal has the ability to separate and use each individual pedal on two bass drums instead of only being able to use the double pedal on one kick. The dual chains, 2 foot plates, 3 high tension springs and 4 adjustable spurs also is very impressive. It definitely assists in keeping the bass from "walking", especially if you have a light weight bass drum. If you have been playing drums for any length of time, you will immediately appreciate this feature. Also, the clamp keys are conveniently located on the side of the plates making it quick and simple to attach the pedal to the drum/s. Would I recommend this item to a friend? Yes! Would I purchase it again? Definitely.

Although I have not made many adjustments it works fine and is quiet
I just moved up from a 'footswitch' type bass pedal (edums) to a kit with a bass drum and needed a kicker. For the price this does it all. Although I have not made many adjustments it works fine and is quiet.I like that you can use the pedals as a double, a single, or two singles. Most double pedals don't do this. They are double pedals and that's all. So I like that, for the low price, I can start with a single pedal, then add on as I get better. Also a bonus is the 4 sided beater. For triggering a edrum it may not matter... but I was told to avoid felt.... well now I have 2 felt and 2 plastic faces to choose from.Took off one star because no directions and there is one plastic part that I have no idea where it goes.Very happy with the kit and quality seem to be OK.... no glaring issues in the week I've had it.

Great but not perfect
It needed a little adjusting out of the box but it's a good price and it works. Now if you need a double bass pedal to just do some fills this is perfect, but if your playing double bass Pantera, Tool, or Slayer style you'll 100% have to tinker with this to get the calibration right. But then again it's not a DW or Yamaha and nor would it be given the price.I give this four stars given they include dual side beaters, hardware for left or right handed set up, separate bass drums, or single bass drum double pedal left or right, AND they give you a drum key and hex wrench that have a notch for you to stick it to. Also the dreaded pedal slip is not an issue given the rubber and anchor spikes. For the price and the extras this is a perfect fit fit the casual double bass player, but speed and presicion are lacking without some major adjusting.I use this on a real kit and a electric kit, same result.
