Works awesome!
This tool works better than advertised! I used it on 1/2" OSB wall panels and the magnets strongly snapped together like a charm! I made a mistake once by not aligning the arrows both in the same direction. Much simpler to align arrows than to constantly use a measuring tape. If I could cut straight with my jigsaw, the holes would have been perfect. But hey, that is what outlet covers and switch panels are for!

Great tool for easy cutouts
These worked great for me. MUCH easier than other marking methods I have used or measuring (which I seem to get wrong from time to time). I'm sure pros have their failsafe method, but this will work for anyone else. The only improvement I would make would be to include level bubbles in the locator piece. I used a small level every time after my first hole was slightly and never had another issue.

Wonderful price and worked like a charm saved so much time and very accurate for the job needed
Wow this item saved me so much time and frustration neatest thing I ever saw and worked with out a hitch even when I used it with metal wall paneling, the magnet was so strong it knew the difference from the metal panel to the magnet I needed it to go to with the tool, so it works on both with no issues. Loved it

They work fine, strong magnets find each other and align accurately.
I bought the set with 3 targets, 1 locator and hard shell plastic case. The plastic storage case is important because the spring wires on the target magnets are vulnerable. The snap on my case is weak but a rubber band works. These things actually work quite well with single and double gang plastic boxes. Works best with single layer sheetrock and the magnet strength will position your cut lines accurate. All my cuts have a tolerance better than 1/8". It will work with double layer 1/2" sheetrock but the magnet grip is weaker which requires more care aligning the cut lines. BUT -- the target magnet requires about 3/4" of open space to fit into the front of the box. Two cables of 12 or14 gauge wire in a single blue box is no problem (6 coiled wires). But if you have crowded boxes, you may have to strip all excess cable sheathing first, or really compress your wires to make room for the magnet. With a properly installed nail-on box, you will set several sheetrock screws around the outer-most edges from the switch box, then trace and cut for the box, then finish the rest of your screws. I rated it 4 out of 5 because I could not use it on a couple two gang boxes that were too crowded but still met NEC fill.

Must have if doing drywall
If you are hanging drywall this is a HUGE time saver. I've used these several times now and absolutely love it. I can find my outlet boxes with ease. The best part is no more mistakes from cutting hole to big or being off on cut hole because wall isn't square. Absolutely recommend!

This Thing Really Works!
A little bit of a learning curve but once I got used to using, it works great. I had a hard time trusting the larger magnet was where it needed to be but after using for a while that fear went away. It was dead accurate every time.

Better than expected - Great for DIYer
This review is for homeowners or DIY'ers. I bought this for a home renovation project where I have 38 receptacle boxes to cut drywall around. I took a little extra time with the first couple to ensure accurate alignment and reliability. There is a small amount of play but once I got the hang of the positioning I was happy. The magnets work pretty well on 1/2" (12.7mm) thick lite drywall although I'd suspect it not being great for 5/8" (just a guess). I'm not in a hurry so taking the extra time to position these for a nice fit worked well for me. Yes, it's slower than a Rotozip but I like having a better fit and mudding less. If you only have a few boxes to cut out then it's probably not worth it. I had a variety of receptacle boxes from both Home Depot and Lowes, some thick, thin, deep, shallow, etc. and these fit them all. I even used it on a round light box. To that, I drew the line around the box and then diagonals from the corners to find the center to drill the hole. Would be great if both pieces had a 3/8" hole in the center for drilling light boxes but I know they sell another version for that instead.

Fantastic product that saves time!
Absolutely recommend this product! Just finished the drywall in my basement and using this made the cutouts for outlets and switches 1000 times easier. I recommend marking with a sharpie around the magnet and cutting just a hair larger, but overall a fantastic product. Easy to use and involves absolutely no measuring

These looked great and would be a handy addition if your putting up your own drywall/gyprock in the USA. I got them but they do not fit the AU/NZ size standard size wall plates. I returned them with no issues. Bummer! The magnets seemed pretty strong to me.

This product works as described. The only issues I've encountered are that I used it incorrectly once (arrows down instead of up) and once I forgot that I had placed a marker behind a sheet of drywall. The only issue that wasn't user error is that he pins that load into the threaded screw holes are very tight in metal boxes. I tried to crimp one with pliers so it would slide in better, but it broke the pin, that marker still works, though. Other than that, this is a worthy tool, easily made my money back in a day through the efficiency gains of not having to measure out electrical boxes.

These are a real time saver. No more wasted material from incorrect measurements. The magnets are very strong as you can see from the picture, they are holding on a desk that is 1" thick so 5'8,1/2 or 3/8 drywall is not a problem. I should also mention they fit various style gang boxes including the pictured plastic boxes and steel boxes. Only regret is that I did not find this product years ago! **update** I have used this product for a few drywall jobs now and the only update to note is when cutting older steel gang boxes, I make the cut about 1/8" inside the lines with an oscillating tool so not to over size the hole. Other then that they work perfect an have been bang on every time.

I had to cut sockets in OSB (not drywall), and this tool helped me a lot. No measurements and no taking the sheet off the wall. Depending on the socket type and your cutting tool, you may be hitting that thin wire that inserts into the socket hole. So far it held up but I think in my case the lifetime will be limited. Given the price that might be fine.
