If you are a Christian who desires more time for the things of God, this is the book for you. Jan Johnson shows you how to live a simpler life so that one has more time for prayer & meditation. This is a book you will want to read again & again. The idea is to start small & just take 1 or 2 of her ideas & implement them in your life. Then you go back & find another couple of ideas & so on. I have given this book as a gift to Christian friends who want to live more simply & who also want to have more time for the things of God. I am now on my 2nd reading of the book & I know it's a book I will read over & over.

My Circle at Church is studying this book and I highly recommend it for groups who want a useful, relevant bible study for today's materialistic world. It is easy to read and to understand. One can read it alone as well. The wrap up and questions at the end of each Chapter are very helpful.

Very personal book. Johnson has a knack for cutting through the armor and callouses we have built up over our actions as we have "grown" into maturity. The section over why we are constantly seeking physical improvement was especially hard hitting, but working through that was very valuable for me. The entire section of using purchasing to feel as though we have met goals which in turns make us feel as if we are doing something has sunk deep into my heart. I have been able to slowly move into a mode where I am increasingly able to see through my own desires before turning them into actions. Thanks so much for this book.

I heard Jan Johnson speak at a seminar and got a couple books. That was about 12 years ago, I've now matured enough to get into her work and process it. This is a wonderful addition to my library and the themes are perfect for the life I am working to build. Highly recommend this.

Best book I've read in years. I loved the message and it's slowly changing the way I think about my faith, spending and how much I choose to keep.

Christian based insights and mature quetions to help a believer dig deeper into the issues facing us in the western culture, issues like abundance. I like the format.

The author is amazingly talented in bringing the reader to a soft, quiet place. She helps us to examine our life in an easy loving way. I am touched deeply by her engaging way of helping me see what the distractions are in my life and how I can simplify things. It isn't necessarily about ridding our lives of things, though that may need to be done in part. Rather it is showing us how simple God is and how easy it is to be with Him and hear Him and relax in Him as He prepares us for His purpose.Please, do buy the book and find time every day to read.
