Used on mild carbon steel to color match black oxide
I ordered this in hopes to do some light touch up work on some parts in the shop that are finished with black oxide. No paint or oils that I tried came anywhere close to the appearance of black oxide. I used this on mild carbon steel, applied with a foam applicator and touched up with a clear acrylic sealant and the color is a near perfect match. You also need a suprisingly small amount for adequate coverage of a larger area than you would think which tells me that for the 9 bucks, I'll be using this quite a while, talk about value :).

Used it once again on an item that I can't mention on here, and it works very well. Got a scratch? Use this! Got a complete raw aluminum something that you want to have a nice black finish? Use this! Stuff is awesome.Free tip: purchase some Preval sprayers and pour this into the bottle. Put your mask and gloves on and go to work. In very little time, you'll have a product that looks great. The Preval uses a minimal amount of liquid, and it allows you to have equal coverage over large areas. It may show wear quickly, but that is just another part of the cool factor. Just make sure you do at least three coats, washing in between. Oh, and another tip, you can take your gloved finger and brush it along the big areas to redistribute the liquid for better coverage. Works for me. Follow me for more useful tips. Lol.

Ordered Aluminum Black, but received Perma Blue. It's fine though...needed a bottle of that too.

It works!
There were some scratches on my AR15, so I used this product to cover them and it works. Just follow the instructions. I totally recommend it for scratches on your guns.
