Honestly, I hesitated to buy these at first because I didn’t want to just end up with overpriced q tips, but I’m so glad I took the chance! My 9 year old pug/chihuahua has had issues with recurring ear infections for years now, and sometimes even Vet prescribed antibiotics won’t fully clear things up. I’ve always heard that you should never use cotton swabs in a dogs ear, but at her most recent visit the vet told me to make sure to get down in there, gently of course, and remove all the (yuck) residue to help the healing process. Enter this product. The stick is so long that it’s incredibly easy to get all the gunk out with ease. Of course you should never go too far down, but for cleaning the ear flap and other visible parts of the outer ear, this is a god send. She certainly wasn’t thrilled about it, but the results were more than worth it. Here’s what I did to clear up a REALLY bad infection: step one, I took her to the vet to make sure it wasn’t anything more serious, because it looked horrible. They did a culture and prescribed “otomax” drops twice a day for 7 days. In the past, that alone hasn’t cut it, so I also bought an ear wash from them, but I actually prefer the Mr. Ben’s ear wash! I was told to use the wash liberally once every night, so I put her in the tub, made sure to put plenty of wash in there, and then while the area was still wet, I used these to clean them out. It was DISGUSTING, but it got less horrifying each day. Then I waited at least 30 mins to let her ear fully dry before putting in the otomax. Within 2 days her ear looked SO much better. Like I said, the otomax alone hasn’t done the job before, so I really credit these for the results. I know this is a long review that may sound kind of silly, but anyone with pets knows how hard it is to see them in pain, and these were a huge help. Thank you Mister Bens!!!

"Human" swabs are too short and the heads are too small for larger dogs (I have 5 Labradors). When dogs have gunk in their ears, use a flush with a drying agent, fill the canal until some comes out, then rub below the ears to get the flush in there. Wait 10 min or so and use these swabs. Remember to go straight down toward their jaw, never toward their head or you run the risk of hurting them. AMAZING what nastiness comes out. I also use baby wipes on the interior flap because they are easier to maneuver in the crevices of the outside of the ear. We live in a wet climate so the wood sticks are great, not cardboard that becomes soggy. These swabs are perfect, cannot say enough.

I LIKE that the Q tip is big...most of all. This is a very large box of them...it will last you forever.I got them to help me clean out my dog’s ears but am not sure how far down to go so a couple inches is all I’m doing. She swims daily &. We’re in SW Florida where it’s not just hot but humid . (An ongoing breeding ground for infections). It’s a lot for your money, they are well made (won’t fall apart) and are bigger so I just place a damp dog wipe folded on it and out comes crud. Glad I purchased it. Wish I knew how far down to go inside her ear, however.

They’re a good length and do not break, so it’s easy to hold one. The swab part is thin to get into smaller ear crevices, though I wish it were thicker. They’re good value, though, package seals, though the strip doesn’t stay glued to one side, but I guess it’s no big deal, since I’m not looking to maintain freshness of a food.They do the job, so I’d recommend it.

My pittie has floppy ears, I love using these to clean and trap the debris caught in her outer ear folds! Very large Cotton bud, please don’t use ur any deeper in the ear, definitely recommend cotton rounds for inner ear cleaning

These large swabs were just what I needed to get down and around all of the parts of my big dog’s ear! I use them to not only clean the ear, but they are great to apply ear antiseptic wash and clean her ear up afterward. I plan to keep a box on hand always. Oh, and I love the packaging. The box I. Made drawer style, so you can easily slide it open with one hand while working on a wiggly pet.

I purchased these last week their were so many types, I read the reviews some customers were saying the swab was the same as a tradition one. Thats far from the truth, like are a little larger and they work very well and my dog does not fuss as much as when I used the people size because I am only touching his ear with the swab instead of my hand getting close to his ear These are nice and work well Was a good purchase

I purchased these ear swabs for my Newfoundland, they are too large for my chihuahua. I found the bamboo handles to be very sturdy, I have not broken one yet. The cotton tip is well attached and has not come off. The cotton tip is large, a little too large to go deep into the ear canal. Overall, I like these earbuds and also find the box they come in to be a convenient dispenser.
