Simple to uae
Easy to install as long as you can read schematic diagram. It works great!

Excellent performance.
I'm using this to power a Tech2 to avoid the typical Tech2 reboot while starting the vehicle. For that it works beautifully.I bench tested all the way down to 5.5 volts and it still maintained the full 12v output. Very happy with my purchase, we'll see how long it lasts.

It fixed my high voltage issue
I had to install two way radios for work. My 2013 2500 hd charged at 14.5 - 15.5 volts to high . After spending a couple thousand dollars to try to lower the voltage, only to discover finally that’s normal. I installed the 8/40 to 13.8 regulator my problem is solved. I’ll have to wait on longevity

Mine works..
I was skeptical about buying due to the reviews saying some failed right away or within short order of installation. I am only running the Basic Club Car light kit (headlights/tail lights) on a 96 Club Car. I followed along with a YouTube video on installing a voltage reducer. Worked perfectly right down to the spark that supposed to happen when connecting the positive input. Used existing holes near center of rear battery support. One large, one small hole on each side of it that line up with the mounting holes in this unit. Got some waterproof male/female bullet connectors and 14gauge wire from AutoZone to extend the leads to reach the battery posts. Be sure to use the female side of the bullet connectors on the hot sides of your wires. Used ring connectors on the battery side. Leave accessories disconnected until you connect the reducer to the battery pack and test with a meter. Mine read 12.3 volts. Connected the output leads to the light kit and they worked perfectly. I have run them a few times testing around the neighborhood and so far so good. I did not install a switch before the reducer to cut power to it when not in use. I dont think it is draining my batts or pulling any current when the lights arent on. I was also worried about how hot it might get. I have touched the reducer after testing and running it around and was not able to detect any heat, however its pretty chilly outside right now. If it lasts, then it will have saved me a fair amount of $$. Knocked a star for no instructions. If you are at all mechanically inclined, you wont have a problem installing this.Update 11/13/13 - Unit has served me well thus far. I have since installed a Bell 12v all weather power outlet so I can run car chargers for phones, or pretty much anything that uses a cigarette lighter style port. I purchased a small car power inverter to run string lights for decorating the cart for Halloween. I ran 3 strings of lights on the cart with no problem. So far this reducer has handled it perfectly.

Works great!
Lasted 9 months and now has zero output. Only used for a few hours for two camping trips in the last 9 months powering Starlink in our RV.EDIT.....My mistake, was using the wrong multi meter setting, still working just fine!

Nice reliable converter
I have used several of these installing light kits on golf carts. These handle LED light kits easily and are reliable and waterproof. No need to spend more. I have used these on 36 and 48 volt carts no problems.

Works great for Google Nest Audio!
The media could not be loaded. I have a 12v off grid setup. Works great! Using the 12v-24v 3a stepup. I like being able to have Google to run smart devices, routines, and play music when my power inverter is not running. My Internet is also 12v, making this an optimal setup in my situation.

Failed almost immediately
Input was connected to 36V regulated supply. (Wanptek dps605u) Output was connected to an electronicload (array 3722). As the load was incremented at 1A steps, converter failed at 5A load. Input is now a direct short.
