Good fan
Good fan, nice airflow and quiet. Also draws very little current. A win in my books.

Perfect direct replacement for my boat bedroom.
Great direct replacement product. Quiet, moves a lot of air. Makes sleeping much more comfortable.

Not just for Boats
This is the 2nd fan I have bought of these, the 1st was purchased around 2016 and is still running well with no issues. This fan does move a lot of air with minimal amperage. I'm using these in my R/V to help circulate the heat during the winter and keep the interior cool in the summer. Only one complaint I do have about these fans, I had to use my Dremel tool to cut out some of the guard on the back side to allow more air to flow with less cavitation, and it works but, make sure the person using the fan is aware that little fingers can slip inside and get smacked by the fan blades. Great Fan and I'm ordering 2 more in the near future to complete my project in the R/V.Note - For those who are Amateur Radio Operators - This fan doesn't interfere with my HF or VHF/UHF equipment, no detectable RFI.

Excellent product
These fans are very impressive. I've had 3 mounted on board our sailboat for at least 6 years and they are still doing great. This one was purchased to add another fan in a forward cabin. They are far superior to the Hella-brand fans of which I have one mounted in an aft cabin. The Bora fans push more air, are much quieter, and better designed than Hella fans. If there is one downside, they are a pain to clean requiring you to take them apart to really get at the blades and inner workings.

Not Worth the Money.
Instead of writing a separate review I'm posting the complaint I sent to Cafraom, as follows:This is my second Caframo Bora 12V Marine fan. The first one was the variable speed which lasted one summer here in Georgia. The blade was so far out of balance it wore the bearing prematurely but I used it until the rheostat stopped working rendering the fan inoperable. The first one I bought was only warrantied for 1 year and it made it just a few days over that. The second one is a 3 speed, (felt the variable speed was not worth the money for one year and the 3 Speed would probably last longer). Nope.I noticed Caframo made an attempt to balance the blade on this second one with a piece of foam tape on one of the blades. I bought a model airplane prop balancer (which now makes the Caframo cost $100) and did the job right. This one no longer vibrates but the bearings still go dry on daily use. I bought this second one June 30, 2015 it is now Aug. 13 2016. Don't know what happened to this one, it started making a new noise (not the dry bearing noise) and now sometimes turns slowly, sometimes not at all, never up to speed. The fan blade is loose not binding at all. It acts like an old brush motor with worn brushes except motors no longer use brushes????At the same time I bought the Caframo, I bought a cheap AC 110 v 12in. fan for the living room for $18 (The Caframo's were used in my sleeping quarters on a nightly basis and sometimes when I read). When I received the CHEAP fan, it DID NOT need blade balancing. After a year the bearings in the CHEAP fan DID NOT need lubricating (still does not need lubricating). The motor and speed regulator in the CHEAP fan DID NOT stop working??????? This CHEAP $18 fan runs full time 24 hours a day along side the $70 CAFRAMO at about 10 hours a day average?????????????Obviously I'd get another CHEAP fan but the company doesn't make a smaller one and I need a DC fan in the sleeping quarters for when not at a dock. Also the sleeping quarters, in my 27 ft. boat, is too small to use anything larger than the caframo.I'm flummoxed! If you say yes it has a 3 year warrantee as stated on the box, I have to send it back at a cost of about $15 to $20 making this fan now $115!! and a service charge of $15 to $20 per year to keep the fan running. Not to mention the time sleeping in a boat in the Georgia summer without a fan while you drag your feet on deciding whether or not to send me another one.If I don't do anything, you get away with soaking us for really poor quality products. And I'm out $175 for just 2 years of very low performance fan service. What to do, what to do?????For further information, these fans are only used in the summer months. They are stored for 1/4 Fall, Winter and 1/4 Spring.Bicycling BobNow in a boat

Powerful yet Quiet Fan
I have purchased 4 of these fans to replace weathered, outdated fans in the cabins of my 44ft sailboat. They move alot of air and are much more quiet than my previous fans. They are more sturdy than I expected as well

One of the best available
What can I say? It’s not like we have a lot of choices out there for 12v fans for marine applications.I find it best for the sleeping cabins and would prefer something with a little more gumption for the Saloon. I have two there and still would prefer something more powerful but I simply couldn’t find a better alternative.I know, some of you will say that they have to be small because they go on boats. To that I say “Bunk!” Boats are getting roomier and you need more airflow. Besides, I started out in the electronics industry. Muffin fans are at least 40 yo technology, as small as... well... a muffin, and can kick up a helluva breeze. So while these are as good as we’re going to get right now, I think we should expect more.(Side track for a moment: who writes the suggestions for these reviews? Why the suggestion for “travel” and a star rating? These are 12v fans designed for campers and yachts. Travel is something they just do. Do they ask, “are we there yet?”, do I have to stop every 30 minutes? No. You want 5 stars for that?! Now back to our regularly scheduled review...)Installation was easy (especially considering all the other things that go wrong on boats), operation is simple, ridiculously quiet (75db on high right next to the fan (think of a whisper in your ear) - ambient sound level of vessel is 63 db with engines off at anchor), and it’s a far far better alternative to the older fan by the same maker.Helpful? 👇🏽

Low quality
These are cheap plastic fans. They look nice enough, and when they work they are quiet, but the fan that I got, and I think this is happening to a lot of folks based on the other reviews I've read, is just off enough so that at certain orientations, the blades shift and just barely nick the edge of the cage, causing a loud buzzing sound. This is easily fixed by making a small cut on the cage, or by disassembling the whole unit and fixing the blade assembly, but these fans are priced and marketed as "luxury" items. The build quality does not match the price.

Well built and designed
Just installed in our RV for those hot summer nights so haven't really tried it out yet. What I am impressed with is how quiet it as and solidly, well built. At this time feel it was well worth the money.

stinkt
