Enhancing Student Achievement: A Framework for School Improvement

This book was required reading for a class I took in educational leadership. The class was specifically looking at school improvement and this text provided the philosophy behind school improvement as well as the steps involved. Even though it was a textbook, it is one that I keep handy for reference every so often.LS

Bought this for my master's class. Easy to read. Great information. Love the use of rubrics for various topics throughout the book.

Danielson writes for teachers and other educators about her subject. Various useful policies are bruited about. Unsurprisingly, there are timeless platitudes, like the virtues of hard work by students. She also advocates that schools build up students' confidences, and should not try to relegate any of them to a "low group", because they will probably turn away from the school and much of the benefits of learning.On the key topic of assessments, some brief remarks are made about various methodologies. Nothing indepth, and few statistics are presented about the efficacies of these. Probably those are better suited for more specialised texts.

This book provided valuable information needed to ensure that all students learn.
