3861 Satin Nickel Double Hook, Suction

I had trouble installing this at first. I used the provided smooth adhesive sheet because my tile is matte not glossy. Even then the hanger didn't want to stay up (and be careful what's beneath it, because it's heavy enough to break something). However, once I took pains to smooth out all the air from the backing, it does seem to be holding. It's the same principle as when you used to place a card over a glass of water filled to the brim, and invert it without the card falling off. When there's no air on one side, the pressure of the atmosphere forces it to stay in place. I'm only using it for potholders, so I'm not asking much of it in terms of strength. Added Feb. 2016: I've now had this for almost half a year. It has stayed on for 2 or 3 months at a time but then has fallen 2 or 3 times. I'm not sure about the future: I feel I have to protect the countertop below it.

It does not stick for long. It fell right down after an hour. I used the square sheet (supposed to make the hook adhere better) that came with the package and gave it another try. And it fell down again after maybe 1.5 hours. The hook is beautiful and made of very sturdy material. But it does not work. I have smooth tiles and the hook was used for a washcloth. I am glad at least I can return it!!!

I bought 5 of these about 2 years ago, after I remodeled our bathroom. I did not want to drill any holes in the tile so I thought I would try these to hold up our wash clothes. Here what I have found...the suction works pretty well....it just does not last for years. I was able to attach these hooks directly on to subway tiles...I made sure that I did not place them between any grout lines and the hooks go up pretty easily. I am only hanging wash clothes on these hooks. What I have found out is that these hooks eventually looks their suction and fall off the wall...I find that they last between 9 and 12 months....but once they start falling off and your re-attach to the wall, they only last a few weeks before falling off again....basically I need to replace the part that attaches to the wall. I wish I could just buy that part and not the whole ensemble. As for the hook itself...Its a very highly quality piece. It's a solid piece of metal and looks to be of high quality machinery. I'd recommend these hooks only if you can deal with the need of replacing them very year or so.

This hook is heavy duty. I needed it for my bathroom but I didn't use it because I was afraid it would crack my ceramic floor if it didn't hold. It's that heavy! Had to buy a lighter hook.

Original review was: 5 stars - Looks nice. Sticks great UPDATED REVIEW: It fell off the wall and, try as I might (even with vaseline) it will not stay up. It still looks nice but if it won't stick. I read the reviews that said it was hard to stick onto the wall but this was not my experience. I got the plastic off the sticky wall pad no problem. I got it flat against the wall no problem. Hook went on no problem. Looked great. Worked great. Then it fell. Then it fell again. :(

These just arrived after being on backorder for awhile. So far - I LOVE them. They're quite heavy, which is cause for a little bit of nervousness, and sturdy. If they stay put in my tile shower then this was a great find. They go wonderfully with our traditional shower style. Love that they have two hooks. I bought them to hang our swimsuits from so they can drip dry in the shower. Perfect!

Received this item today. Followed the instructions explicitly and each time the device/s fell to the floor. I attempted to adhere them to other services and again each fell. The device appears to be too heavy for the suction mechanism. The device, very sturdy, cannot be held with the light weight suction. I would keep these devices if the suction were built of a stronger material than the light weight plastic.

Works well but for some reason not sticking as well as their other products.
