GET ONE FOR EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!! BEST INVENTION EVER. [Update: Caught 17 scorpions so far]
Y'ALL. THIS IS THE BEST INVENTION EVER!!!!! This isn't a toy! This is a tool. A WEAPON. They need to rebrand it--make it black and red and give it a new and worthy name. Every parent should give their kid this when they head off to college. There should be one in every room of every house. It should come with a carrying case or holster. Why am I so excited about the BugView??? Gone are the days of trying to trap a scorpion underneath a glass and attempting to move it with a piece of paper! Gone are the days of giving up on that, and leaving said scorpion underneath a glass for an undisclosed amount of time waiting for someone else to make it disappear! (I hate squishing bugs, because ew. If they escape I just accept that my home belongs to them now.) Since I received this a few weeks ago, I've caught 5 scorpions, spiders, beetles, and a roachish thing. I've ordered another Bugview as well. (Makes a great gift!!!!)Instructions: Slap a sticker over the magnifying glass. Scorpion at 5x its normal size? HAHA no thanks! (I have no problems catching things with the obstructed view.) Now, catch insects and release them hundreds of feet away from where you sleep at night! Rescue flipped beetles without touching them! The world is your oyster! YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE.With my BugView™, I have reclaimed my independence! I am safe in my own home! I can go outside again! I GOT MY LIFE BACK. THANKS, BUGVIEW!!!Update 9/22/17: So far I have caught **17** scorpions with this. Added a new photo featuring numbers 14, 15, and 16. This scorp squad was captured within 24 hrs of each other: 14 by a door to the outside, 15 in my shower, and 16 at the top of the stairs.17 (not pictured) was posted up outside my bedroom door. This is why you should ideally have a BugView in every room.GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!!

Very Small Bugs Can Escape or Enter Hollow Handle
Works as designed with faults. A huge flaw is the magnifier. It's worthless. The bug needs to be directly in the center, and none stay there. They all hug the side looking for an escape, and can't be seen. I didn't buy it to view bugs though. I bought it to catch bugs in the house and release them outside. The magnifier makes this harder than using a cup and piece of cardboard. Because of the magnifier you can almost never see if you're covering small bugs. When attempting to catch them, this makes it difficult when you can't see where the bug is, underneath the plastic, or if you have it covered at all. Another problem is the fact there are tiny spaces which allows very small, or very flat bugs to escape, or squeeze into the hollow handle. I've already had to take the handle apart to get one out. This is decent enough if you're going to catch and release quickly, and you're aware to keep small bugs away from the spaces. This is not something you should use to view bugs and I wish they would remove the useless magnifier from future builds.

Mama loves bugs.
I bought one of these for my kids a while back and they used it so much they eventually destroyed it BUT the concept is so wonderful that I bought another for myself. I love snagging bugs and spiders and checking them out with my kids before we toss them outside. The yellow trapping plastic can get warped and off its track if you don't take good care of it. My kids left it out in the yard, dug in the dirt with it, probably hit each other with it, and so forth...and it lasted quite a long time.

LOVE THIS! Great for citizen science and saving house bugs
I got this catcher because we try to be as kill-free in our home as possible, but sometimes the traditional cup-and-paper method just doesn’t work. This tool catches bugs so easily, we’ve even nabbed house flies with it! The opening was wider that expected, so I think most household critters (e.g., daddy long-legs, centipedes, mosquitos, etc.) could be caught in it without damage. The other great thing about it is that I’m able to use it to get close-ups of tiny creatures for my citizen science projects on iNaturalist, which allows me to get an ID on particular spiders and other things that would be too difficult to photograph enough detail on without magnification. The ONLY thing I would maybe change about it would be making the yellow “floor” of the catcher (the part that slides in and out) clear so the bottom of the bug could be observed easier; however, having it colored probably does make it easier to see when the thing has been successfully enclosed inside, and having a clear bottom might interfere with the magnification, so I’m not taking off any stars for this.

It does what it says on the tin!!
Silly I know but, like many people, I'm terrified of spiders. I had one of the original style catchers of the box on the long handle but, you had to put your hand right down to the wall, floor or whatever and, as I'm getting older and not so agile, I found it difficult to actually reach the floor, without fear of ending up, on the floor! This is where this Bug Catcher comes into its own ~ you place the box over said beastie and you use the button at the top of the handle, to close the box. It's brilliant. Having read other reviews, I did wonder if it would be big enough for the larger spiders but, I caught a veritable monster the other evening, no problem. It walked in and, with all legs still intact, it walked out, outside the front door. I'm so impressed that I bought a second one but, I was a bit miffed to find that over a three week period, the catcher had increased in price by more than £2.50 but, I like the product, so had to pay the price! This really does work and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Squashed bug viewer!
Good idea for inspecting the bugs once caught but if they refuse to stroll into the viewing box then as you close the sliding base it squashes the bug 😕

Secret Santa present
It was a big hit as a Secret Santa-present to someone who is scared of spiders! Another colleague vouched for its great use as his son has got one too - not just for educational purposes, but for removal of spiders too.

Its useful little thing
Its useful little thing. You can grab any insect and throw them out of the house. The only downside is that the bottom is flimsy and doesn't stay in place.

Easy to use
Have successfully removed many moths and spiders, and a few (fairly calm) bees too. Easy to use, particularly as the clear sides allow in light so you can see to avoid trapping legs.

Big, useful, practical for its purpose but hard to maintain in good shape
Excellent item if used sparingly and carefully. Not ideal for very young kids due to size (it's quite big!) and chance of hurting bugs by trapping its legs with the base when sliding closed. Hard to clean when it gets dirty.Handy to remove bugs from inside a tent!

Good quality and a simple ergonomic design
Good quality and a simple ergonomic design. It is a little difficult to use for catching bugs regularly. If you're using it to get food for a pet I'd recommend getting an air intake bug catcher.
