a skeptic turns around
I heard about Dr. Hawkins by reading Wayne Dyer. Although I can see that Dyer's work is filtered through who he is as a person (opposite of me in many ways), I could see the intent and it touched my heart, much in the same way Deepak Chopra did. When I first began reading Deepak Chopra, three years ago, I stumbled on his books by chance, but reading them gave me a focus, a way to act out my faith in God. His books gave me a more scientific and spiritual way of seeing God and myself and the universe. By reading Deepak Chopra, I became a kinder, gentler person. It gave me a framework for understanding Christianity in a way that made sense. All the platitudes, such as "Let go and let God", now made sense. All this spiritual reading made me hungry for more. I wanted more ways to focus on God-conscientiousness. So when Dyer quoted "Power vs. Force" in his book, I decided to find out who Dr. Hawkins was and if his books might have any relevance for me. In summary, Deepak led me to Wayne, who led me to David.I read the reviews and decided to purchase three of Dr. Hawkins' books. I was extremely skeptical, thinking that maybe his brush with death and prior spiritual experiences had warped his brain; that, instead of being enlightened, he was just plain old crazy. Specifically, when I read stuff about how he thought kinesiology was the be all and end all, I thought "The man is mad." But I read on, thinking that if he spoke the truth, I would be able to discern it. And, I must say, after reading a significant amount of this book, not only do his assertions ring true, but I'm captivated and loathe to put the book down, in a way that I seldom experience with other books. I feel that this man speaks the truth. I do not think he is not unbiased by who he is (an educated person, a physician, a midwesterner, etc.), nor is he free of ego constraints (as I would say we all are, though we struggle against them); however, I believe that the bulk of what he writes is truthful and very helpful in the spiritual quest. I think he is a bit more cerebral than most (Deepak breaks it down rather simply, by comparison), but if you can roll with the language and intent, you will find many helpful, insightful passages, so much so that I have highlighted and dog-eared much of the book (which I very rarely do).He writes things which seem to be expressed, though less eloquently, by other spiritual writers. They all seem to be saying the same thing, which is fine with me.In summary, it's nice to see another author I can add to the list of helpful books I have read.

Definitely one of this best works
I got into Dr. Hawkins through my mom, who is very much into spirituality herself. I have read "Truth Versus Falsehood", "Power Versus Force", as well as glanced or read through some of "I: Reality and Subjectivity" and "Discovering the Presence of God", so I can used to Dr. Hawkins style of discussion and writing, and I have been attracted to him as a great spiritual teacher/author, moreso on the subject if spiritual truths and the nature of the human ego/mind, God, the Self and Consciousness. If you have read the first two books that I mentioned above already (TvF) and (PvF), then you are ready for the material in "The Eye of the I", among the others that I mentioned later. As TvF and PvF take you up to Consciousness level 600, this book, as well as "Discovering the Presence of God" and "I: Reality and Subjectivity" take up to the level of Spiritual Enlightenment/Self-Realization (600-1000). Overall, the material is very good, and well written of "Eye of the I".......Dr. Hawkins does a great job with this book, and it is no wonder why both my mom and myself enjoy this book tremendously. Combined with all other books, "Eye of the I" makes for a great spiritual information and methods of spiritual practices that can help one with spiritual salavtion for thier soul and union with God. If you combine the material in this book with those of the other books that I have already mentioned in this review, regardless of what religion you belong to, this can really help with you both your devotional and spiritual practices on a daily basis and really help you to develop a strong relationship with God. Most definitely recommended for all spiritual seekers/aspirants as a very helpful tool and guide!

very valuable - highly recommended
I am A Course in Miracles and A Course of Love student since the late 90’. I found this book and several books and lectures of David Hawkins to be spot on. It takes time and effort to understand him but he has a way of making the material at least conceptually understandable if not experientially known.

Excellent condition and fast shipping
The book came with original wrapping. the book is new. I was surprised to get a new book for the half price. The shipping was very fast and the book seller had added additional bubble wrap to protect the book. Good folks at this book seller and I shall purchase books from them as I need to in the future. Thank you for being a good book seller on Amazon. The book itself is highly recommended for those who are looking for spiritual guidance. Dr. Hawkins' explanations and steps are easily understood and can be implemented without too much hassle. Once you read any of his writings, you will be hooked in a wonderful way.

I've found every one of David's books I've read richly ...
Every book by Dr. Hawkins I've ever read has proven richly rewarding. Doc's recent and earlier lives appear to have given him the unusual ability to explain ideas beyond the reaches of our normal perception. He can draw a map to a place otherwise inaccessible to us because of his actually living there. It's one thing to be one of the locals in a place and another to be trying to find it. This being in the place he writes from is not cut and pasted into one's view of reality. It increases over time and with repeated exposure as one grows and acclimates to it. Some things simply have to be done FIRST before they are better understood. Another reviewer who finds any of David's books less "accessible" than they apparently expected might in fact be using the wrong key for the lock. Relying on logic alone is both self limiting and overrated. It can't reach far enough. Instead of "overthinking", be patient. Learning a new way of knowing may take time. Let the heart reveal its own wisdom. Imagine reminding yourself not to believe everything you "think" but to FEEL the truth of things instead. Personally it's been amusing to realize when my best thoughts... aren't even my own thoughts. In fact, Dr. Hawkins has helped me learn to appreciate this and any other insight able to keep the ego off the furniture.
