The product should be removed before swimming and bathing in order to help the style last. Similar to many jewelry products after time passes the product may show some wear and tear from regular wearing and exposure to air without polishing or cleaning. The metal is not stainless steel nor sterling silver, it is a base metal mixture of zinc and brass that is plated in an imitation silver tone. The metal we use is rated as Nickel Safe based on guidelines set by the consumer safety commission.

Thank you for your inquiry, we pride ourselves in the quality of our products but as with any metal mixture tarnishing can happen if subjected to time in water or other substances such as lotions, etc. The metal is made of a base mixture of Zinc and Brass plated in an imitation silver tone. Since it is not a pure metal with excessive oils or water the imitation silver plating could wear down, but with the right care of the piece it should remain beautiful.

❤️ this necklace!!

Both the chain and pendant are so sparkly and eye catching!! The blue is a beautiful vibrant color. The clasp is easy to put on and off. Don't think I've ever loved a necklace as much as this.(Don't wear pierced earrings so can't comment on that.)
