Great with Skinny Popcorn and a bit of milk!

Love this cereal! Low in calories, salt free, no added sugar, whole grain, preservative free, crunchy and very satisfying. This can also be eaten as a healthy snack without the guilt. I would strongly recommend this cereal for children as well as adults. It has a nice just baked flavor and aroma. I have been eating this cereal for years and am never disappointed or bored with it. I sometimes mix it in with other wholegrain cereals because I like the different textures.

Let me tell you something, if you haven't tried Hulless Popcorn, you haven't explored the good side of corn yet. I have seen in a lot of review of this product, folks are using this for breakfast cereal - Puffed corn is one of the best snacks you can ever have - it just need to be prepared right!First, this of it as Hulless Popcorn instead of a 'Sugar Pops' substitute. I used to eat this as a kid in a town near where I grew up. The town was known for it and it was a Sunday thing for us to go eat Hulless Popcorn. No more hulls stuck on your teeth, kernels at the back of your throat - PLUS if you have braces, this is safe! It won't get stuck.The trick is to prepare it just like popcorn. I use a wok but you could really use any type of wide pan. In it I put some Flavored Coconut popping oil. Just enough to coat the puffed corn. You will see a slight expansion of the corn, where it crack just a little more - you can see small white areas of the corn open up. Then it is ready for you to add your favorite popcorn seasoned salt. Then it is ready to put in a popcorn bowl and top it with some nice butter! Tastes just like popcorn without the hassle!For years I looked for this where I live. My local supermarket started carrying it but then stopped. I am glad I can find it here!You too may switch from popcorn to hulless popcorn once you try it! BTW, this is not 'virtually' hulless, it *is* hulless!Preparation can also be done in the microwave. The corn will show the same little cracks once ready, be careful not to burn it. Once it comes out of the microwave and you try to eat it, it will be awful, mushy. Just wait 2 to 5 minutes and it will be crunchy and ready to eat!

So I bought their puffed brown rice as well and for that you get 4 bags of approximately the same size as these ones. For this listing you just get two bags. I don’t know how to tell if it’s stale, but the Best By date is about 5 months out. I assume plain puffed corn doesn’t have any flavor but there are a few things you can do to make it better. And more natural than a processed cereal.Easy cereal: add corn puffs to bowl, mix with honey and salt or sugar, salt, and optionally a little oil or butter. Add milk.Sweet or salty: add bag into large bowl. Mix with oil, salt, sugar (if you need it sweet), and/or honey (if you need it sweet). Taste test it and add until it tastes good). Bake at 250 Fahrenheit for ~30 minutes, taking out and stirring at 15.There are also recipes online to make things like this into a caramel corn which would be pretty good but probably defeat the purpose of buying something “healthy”. But if you’re not into eating styrofoam you’re gonna have to add stuff to this. If you need something “healthy” but don’t want to add anything to this, I’d recommend finding one that only contains puffed corn and salt. Good luck.

I have ordered this cereal several times and it was fine. These recently package of two are inedible due to the extreme amount of husks in the package along with the puffed corn cereal. It is nonreturnable and $15 in the trash.

My favorite is to munch on it as I am watching a good movie instead of popcorn. You don't need to add butter or any type of fat or fat substitute. It tastes great just the way it is.For those with wheat allergies or on a gluten free diet, this is a great option either for a meal or a snack. Purchasing through Amazon seems to be the least expensive way I have found.

To me, “Only 60 calories per 1 cup” is the most appealing feature of this product - Arrowhead Mills Cereal, Puffed Corn, 6 Ounce (Pack of 12) since I am trying to reduce my daily calorie intake. It is 100% whole grain yellow corn cereal, and No added salt or sugar & no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, meaning almost No flavor.I am more used to slightly sweetened puffed corns, the ones you can buy from Asian groceries, so I felt Arrowhead Mills’ Puffed Corn was really taste-less when I tried it for the first time. Now I like Arrowhead Mills’ Puffed Corn a little more than before, but still hard to say it is my favorite.I find Arrowhead Mills’ puffed corn, right out of the bag, is quite chewy rather than crunchy. Moreover, some bags in my box had minor leaks (flat bags). So, I always microwave puffed corns for about 30 seconds before serving, to make the puffed corns crispier by evaporating some moisture that probably made the puffed corns too chewy. This way, I can enjoy almost guilt-free snacks (Only 60 calories per 1 cup!) with better taste.

It's difficult to find all the products I used up north. I like unsweetened cereals which I eat several times a week. I enjoy adding my own fresh fruit or raisins but no sugar!
