Excellent Resource on the Ju-88
Yet another excellent book in this series by Classic Books. For those interested in German aircraft of World War II, this is well worth the investment. Both Volume One and Volume Two on the Junkers Ju-88 are excellent. The early chapters of Volume One detail the evolution of the design and also of the Junkers manufacturer, and the later chapters provide excellent descriptions of the life of these aircraft in the same vein as other books in the series. The technical details are outstanding, and the line drawings and photographs are sharp and clear. The well written text along with numerous photographs and drawings make this a superb resource.

Very good information, well presented
Very good information, well presented, with high quality paper & format, & presented in a logical way. A lot of effort had gone into the research on the subject. These publications are well worth the price. Crecy have never disappointed me on the quality of these type of publications

Excellent summary of the development
This well-produced and heavily-illustrated book is an excellent summary of the Ju-88 family development. The author's perspective was also valuable and offered insights I've not seen in other books on this aircraft. Highly recommended!

Good but hard to read
Authoritative & comprehensive. Print is too tiny & faint to read without a magnifying glass.

Junkers Ju88
Best book on this airplane.... Everything about design, development, great detailed drawings and photos. Great for modelers and historians. Large compressive hardback part of a great series on German aircraft

Ju88 Study
Item is exactly as described and arrived by the promised delivery date. A very detailed study on one of the best multirole aircraft ever built in any country.

More like half a book and the rest filler
The section on the A model is quite good. But so much is taken up with the proposed B model and the 288 /388. It does not even address the more prominent and widely used C, G, S, and T. Organization is poor.

Another winner.
I pre ordered this book back in 2011 , priced at £35 it seemed like a good deal to go on, received my copy on return from holiday last weekend. For the price you do get a lot for your money , at full RRP it comes in at £50 which is not cheap by any standards. The book itself is presented in the familiar format of this publisher and this series , so no major surprises. The book is well made , print and photo reproduction is clear throughout, line diagrams are well sized and as far as I can see without problem. In one week it is impossible to read completely and digest a book of this nature and I do not pretend to have done so , I have however spent time with the project and have read some selected sections and have come away impressed. The JU88 is a well known aircraft, one of "the maids of all work" which comes from it being as the authors describe as being a " proven design" one which preformed well and provided scope for diversity and service beyond its primary role as a bomber. The development of the aircraft as a heavy fighter, nightfighter , even that of mounting a recoil less 88mm gun are explored as well as projects like the 188 288 and 388 which were developed from the basic 88 itself.I am happy to say I can honestly say I have learnt a fuller appreciation of the JU88 itself and gained some insights into how the Luftwaffe worked , also pleasing is a chapter comparing it to similar aircraft from other nations within the Axis and Allied camp. This first of two deals with " Development, Production and Technical History and use as in other volumes has been made of period material from Luftwaffe and Junkers documents.Volume 2 will deal with Operational use of the JU88 both "Day and Night", looking forward to this one to be sure for it is as a nocturnal warrior that my major interest in the aircraft comes , it is also worth saying that this volume dove tails nicely with the book on the Mistel projects.Worth buying IMO a thumbs up.

Excellent reference work
I was a bit confused about the "Volume 1" part of the title but it turns out that the entire development history of the Ju88 is covered in this book and Volume 2 deals with the operational usage of the aircraft. This is a well written and very detailed reference work for the design and development of the Ju88 and it's variants and when I say "detailed" I mean that if you want to know really obscure things such as how many stringers were used in the fuselage and where they were positioned, this is for you! I particularly liked the original German papers and constructional diagrams shown throughout although more translations of the German text would have been useful.A superb book for model builders and aircraft anoraks (and I don't mean that disparagingly).

THE german bomber
There's no other famous german bomber like the famous Ju 88 ! And the book is also THE book to have...If you want to know how this famous airplane was constructed and tested, then this volume is for you ! Want to know on what front this bomber was flying, then you've to wait until volume 2 is coming...This book is only explaining the different versions of the versatile airplane and different prototypes...
